The Tribe of Benjamin

Benjamin became the father of Bela his firstborn, Ashbel the second, Aharah the third, Nohah the fourth, and Rapha the fifth.

Bela had sons: Addar, Gera, Abihud, Abishua, Na’aman, Ahoah, Gera, Shephuphan, and Huram.

These are the sons of Ehud. They are the heads of fathers’ households for the inhabitants of Geba who were exiled to Manahath, namely, Na’aman, Ahijah, and Gera, who led them into exile,[a] and he became the father of Uzza and Ahihud.

Shaharaim became a father in the territory of Moab, after he had sent away his wives Hushim and Ba’ara. By his wife Hodesh he became the father of Jobab, Zibia, Mesha, Malkam, 10 Jeuz, Shakia, and Mirmah. These were his sons, heads of the houses of their fathers. 11 By Hushim, he became the father of Abitub and Elpa’al. 12 The sons of Elpa’al were Eber, Misham, and Shemed, who built Ono and Lod, with its towns.

13 Also Beriah and Shema, who were heads of houses of the fathers of the inhabitants of Aijalon. They put to flight the inhabitants of Gath.

14 Also Ahio, Shashak, Jeremoth, 15 Zebadiah, Arad, Eder, 16 Michael, Ishpah, Joha, who were the sons of Beriah.

17 Also Zebadiah, Meshullam, Hizki, Heber, 18 Ishmerai, Izliah, Jobab, the sons of Elpa’al.

19 Also Jakim, Zikri, Zabdi, 20 Elienai, Zillethai, Eliel, 21 Adaiah, Beraiah, Shimrath, the sons of Shimei.

22 Also Ishpan, Eber, Eliel, 23 Abdon, Zikri, Hanan, 24 Hananiah, Elam, Anthothijah, 25 Iphdeiah, Penuel, the sons of Shashak.

26 Also Shamsherai, Shehariah, Athaliah, 27 Ja’areshiah, Elijah, Zikri, and the sons of Jeroham. 28 These were heads of fathers’ households throughout their generations, head men. These lived in Jerusalem.

29 Jeiel,[b] the father of Gibeon, whose wife’s name was Ma’akah, lived in Gibeon 30 with his firstborn son Abdon. Other sons were Zur, Kish, Baal, Ner,[c] Nadab, 31 Gedor, Ahio, and Zeker. 32 Mikloth became the father of Shimeah. They also lived near their brothers in Jerusalem, with their brothers.

33 Ner became the father of Kish.
    Kish became the father of Saul.
    Saul became the father of Jonathan, Malkishua, Abinadab, and Eshbaal.[d]
34 The son of Jonathan was Meribbaal.[e]
    Meribbaal became the father of Micah.
35 The sons of Micah were Pithon, Melek, Tarea, and Ahaz.
36 Ahaz became the father of Jehoaddah.
    Jehoaddah became the father of Alemeth, Azmaveth, and Zimri.
    Zimri became the father of Moza.
37 Moza became the father of Binea. Raphah was his son, Eleasah his son, and Azel his son.
38 Azel had six sons, whose names are Azrikam, Bokeru, Ishmael, Sheariah, Obadiah, and Hanan. All these were the sons of Azel.
39 The sons of Eshek his brother were Ulam his firstborn, Jeush his second, and Eliphelet his third.
40 The sons of Ulam were powerful warriors, who were archers. They had many sons and grandsons, one hundred fifty. All these were of the descendants of Benjamin.

Benjamin engendra Béla, son premier-né, Aschbel le second, Achrach le troisième,

Voici les fils d'Échud, qui étaient chefs de famille parmi les habitants de Guéba, et qui les transportèrent à Manachath:

Naaman, Achija et Guéra. Guéra, qui les transporta, engendra Uzza et Achichud.

Schacharaïm eut des enfants au pays de Moab, après qu'il eut renvoyé Huschim et Baara, ses femmes.

Il eut de Hodesch, sa femme: Jobab, Tsibja, Méscha, Malcam,

10 Jeuts, Schocja et Mirma. Ce sont là ses fils, chefs de famille.

11 Il eut de Huschim: Abithub et Elpaal.

12 Fils d'Elpaal: Éber, Mischeam, et Schémer, qui bâtit Ono, Lod et les villes de son ressort.

13 Beria et Schéma, qui étaient chefs de famille parmi les habitants d'Ajalon, mirent en fuite les habitants de Gath.

14 Achjo, Schaschak, Jerémoth,

15 Zebadja, Arad, Éder,

16 Micaël, Jischpha et Jocha étaient fils de Beria. -

17 Zebadja, Meschullam, Hizki, Héber,

18 Jischmeraï, Jizlia et Jobab étaient fils d'Elpaal. -

19 Jakim, Zicri, Zabdi,

20 Éliénaï, Tsilthaï, Éliel,

21 Adaja, Beraja et Schimrath étaient fils de Schimeï. -

22 Jischpan, Éber, Éliel,

23 Abdon, Zicri, Hanan,

24 Hanania, Élam, Anthothija,

25 Jiphdeja et Penuel étaient fils de Schaschak. -

26 Schamscheraï, Schecharia, Athalia,

27 Jaaréschia, Élija et Zicri étaient fils de Jerocham. -

28 Ce sont là des chefs de famille, chefs selon leurs générations. Ils habitaient à Jérusalem.

29 Le père de Gabaon habitait à Gabaon, et le nom de sa femme était Maaca.

30 Abdon, son fils premier-né, puis Tsur, Kis, Baal, Nadab,

31 Guedor, Achjo, et Zéker.

32 Mikloth engendra Schimea. Ils habitaient aussi à Jérusalem près de leurs frères, avec leurs frères. -

33 Ner engendra Kis; Kis engendra Saül; Saül engendra Jonathan, Malki Schua, Abinadab et Eschbaal.

34 Fils de Jonathan: Merib Baal. Merib Baal engendra Michée.

35 Fils de Michée: Pithon, Mélec, Thaeréa et Achaz.

36 Achaz engendra Jehoadda; Jehoadda engendra Alémeth, Azmaveth et Zimri; Zimri engendra Motsa;

37 Motsa engendra Binea. Rapha, son fils; Éleasa, son fils; Atsel, son fils;

38 Atsel eut six fils, dont voici les noms: Azrikam, Bocru, Ismaël, Schearia, Abdias et Hanan. Tous ceux-là étaient fils d'Atsel. -

39 Fils d'Éschek, son frère: Ulam, son premier-né, Jéusch le second, et Éliphéleth le troisième.

40 Les fils d'Ulam furent de vaillants hommes, tirant de l'arc; et ils eurent beaucoup de fils et de petits-fils, cent cinquante. Tous ceux-là sont des fils de Benjamin.

Descendientes de Benjamín

Benjamín fue el padre de Bela su primogénito, Asbel(A) el segundo, Ahara(B) el tercero, Noha el cuarto, y Rafa el quinto. Y Bela tuvo hijos: Adar[a], Gera, Abiud, Abisúa, Naamán, Ahoa, Gera, Sefufán e Hiram. Y estos son los hijos de Aod: estos son los jefes de las casas paternas de los habitantes de Geba, y que fueron llevados al destierro a Manahat, es decir, Naamán, Ahías y Gera; este los llevó al destierro, y fue el padre de Uza y de Ahiud.

Saharaim tuvo hijos en la tierra de Moab, después de repudiar a sus mujeres Husim y Baara. Y de su mujer Hodes tuvo a Jobab, Sibia, Mesa, Malcam, 10 Jeúz, Saquías y Mirma. Estos fueron sus hijos, jefes de las casas paternas. 11 Y de Husim tuvo a Abitob y a Elpaal. 12 Los hijos de Elpaal fueron Heber, Misam y Semed, que edificó a Ono y Lod con sus aldeas;

13 Bería y Sema, que fueron jefes de las casas paternas de los habitantes de Ajalón, hicieron huir a los habitantes de Gat; 14 y Ahío[b], Sasac y Jeremot. 15 Zebadías, Arad, Ader, 16 Micael, Ispa y Joha fueron los hijos de Bería. 17 Zebadías, Mesulam, Hizqui, Heber, 18 Ishmerai, Jezlías y Jobab fueron los hijos de Elpaal. 19 Jaquim, Zicri, Zabdi, 20 Elienai, Ziletai, Eliel, 21 Adaías, Beraías y Simrat fueron los hijos de Simei. 22 Ispán, Heber, Eliel, 23 Abdón, Zicri, Hanán, 24 Hananías, Elam, Anatotías, 25 Ifdaías y Peniel fueron los hijos de Sasac. 26 Samserai, Seharías, Atalías, 27 Jaresías, Elías y Zicri fueron los hijos de Jeroham. 28 Estos fueron jefes de las casas paternas conforme a sus generaciones, hombres principales que vivieron en Jerusalén.

29 (C)En Gabaón habitaba Jehiel, padre de Gabaón, y el nombre de su mujer era Maaca; 30 y su primogénito fue Abdón; después Zur, Cis, Baal, Nadab, 31 Gedor, Ahío y Zequer. 32 Miclot fue el padre de Simea. Y habitaban también con sus parientes[c] en Jerusalén enfrente de sus otros parientes. 33 (D)Ner fue el padre de Cis, Cis fue padre de Saúl y Saúl fue el padre de Jonatán, Malquisúa, Abinadab y Es Baal. 34 El hijo de Jonatán fue Merib Baal, y Merib Baal fue el padre de Micaía. 35 Los hijos de Micaía fueron Pitón, Melec, Tarea y Acaz. 36 Acaz fue el padre de Joada, Joada fue padre de Alemet, Azmavet y Zimri, y Zimri engendró a Mosa; 37 y Mosa fue el padre de Bina; Rafa fue su hijo, Elasa su hijo, Azel su hijo. 38 Azel tuvo seis hijos y estos eran sus nombres: Azricam, Bocru, Ismael, Searías, Obadías y Hanán. Todos estos fueron hijos de Azel. 39 Los hijos de Esec su hermano fueron Ulam su primogénito, Jehús el segundo, y Elifelet el tercero. 40 Los hijos de Ulam eran hombres fuertes de gran valor, arqueros, y tuvieron muchos hijos y nietos, 150 en total. Todos estos fueron de los hijos de Benjamín.

The Genealogy of Saul the Benjamite(A)

Benjamin(B) was the father of Bela his firstborn,

Ashbel the second son, Aharah the third,

Nohah the fourth and Rapha the fifth.

The sons of Bela were:

Addar,(C) Gera, Abihud,[a] Abishua, Naaman, Ahoah,(D) Gera, Shephuphan and Huram.

These were the descendants of Ehud,(E) who were heads of families of those living in Geba and were deported to Manahath:

Naaman, Ahijah, and Gera, who deported them and who was the father of Uzza and Ahihud.

Sons were born to Shaharaim in Moab after he had divorced his wives Hushim and Baara. By his wife Hodesh he had Jobab, Zibia, Mesha, Malkam, 10 Jeuz, Sakia and Mirmah. These were his sons, heads of families. 11 By Hushim he had Abitub and Elpaal.

12 The sons of Elpaal:

Eber, Misham, Shemed (who built Ono(F) and Lod with its surrounding villages), 13 and Beriah and Shema, who were heads of families of those living in Aijalon(G) and who drove out the inhabitants of Gath.(H)

14 Ahio, Shashak, Jeremoth, 15 Zebadiah, Arad, Eder, 16 Michael, Ishpah and Joha were the sons of Beriah.

17 Zebadiah, Meshullam, Hizki, Heber, 18 Ishmerai, Izliah and Jobab were the sons of Elpaal.

19 Jakim, Zikri, Zabdi, 20 Elienai, Zillethai, Eliel, 21 Adaiah, Beraiah and Shimrath were the sons of Shimei.

22 Ishpan, Eber, Eliel, 23 Abdon, Zikri, Hanan, 24 Hananiah, Elam, Anthothijah, 25 Iphdeiah and Penuel were the sons of Shashak.

26 Shamsherai, Shehariah, Athaliah, 27 Jaareshiah, Elijah and Zikri were the sons of Jeroham.

28 All these were heads of families, chiefs as listed in their genealogy, and they lived in Jerusalem.

29 Jeiel[b] the father[c] of Gibeon lived in Gibeon.(I)

His wife’s name was Maakah, 30 and his firstborn son was Abdon, followed by Zur, Kish, Baal, Ner,[d] Nadab, 31 Gedor, Ahio, Zeker 32 and Mikloth, who was the father of Shimeah. They too lived near their relatives in Jerusalem.

33 Ner(J) was the father of Kish,(K) Kish the father of Saul(L), and Saul the father of Jonathan, Malki-Shua, Abinadab and Esh-Baal.[e](M)

34 The son of Jonathan:(N)

Merib-Baal,[f](O) who was the father of Micah.

35 The sons of Micah:

Pithon, Melek, Tarea and Ahaz.

36 Ahaz was the father of Jehoaddah, Jehoaddah was the father of Alemeth, Azmaveth and Zimri, and Zimri was the father of Moza. 37 Moza was the father of Binea; Raphah was his son, Eleasah his son and Azel his son.

38 Azel had six sons, and these were their names:
