²⁸ These were the heads of fathers' houses, according to their generations, chief men. These lived in Jerusalem.

²¹ But the people of Benjamin did not drive out the Jebusites who lived in Jerusalem, ^(A)so the Jebusites have lived with the people of Benjamin in Jerusalem to this day.

⁷ And these are the sons of Benjamin: Sallu the son of Meshullam, son of Joed, son of Pedaiah, son of Kolaiah, son of Maaseiah, son of Ithiel, son of Jeshaiah, ⁸ and his brothers, men of valor, 928.^{[a] 9} Joel the son of Zichri was their overseer; and Judah the son of Hassenuah was second over the city.

The Leaders in Jerusalem

11 Now the leaders of the people ^(A)lived in Jerusalem. And the rest of the people ^(B)cast lots to bring one out of ten to live in Jerusalem ^(C)the holy city, while nine out of ten^[a] remained in the other towns.

²⁸ Zela, Haeleph, ^(A)Jebus^[a] (that is, Jerusalem), Gibeah^[b] and Kiriath-jearim^[c]—fourteen cities with their villages. This is the inheritance of the people of Benjamin according to its clans.

⁶³ But the ^(A)Jebusites, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, ^(B)the people of Judah could not drive out, ^(C)so the Jebusites dwell with the people of Judah at Jerusalem to this day.
