Descendants of Issachar

The sons[a] of Is′sachar: Tola, Pu′ah, Jashub, and Shimron, four. The sons of Tola: Uzzi, Repha′iah, Je′ri-el, Jah′mai, Ibsam, and Shemu′el, heads of their fathers’ houses, namely of Tola, mighty warriors of their generations, their number in the days of David being twenty-two thousand six hundred. The sons of Uzzi: Izrahi′ah. And the sons of Izrahi′ah: Michael, Obadi′ah, Jo′el, and Isshi′ah, five, all of them chief men; and along with them, by their generations, according to their fathers’ houses, were units of the army for war, thirty-six thousand, for they had many wives and sons. Their kinsmen belonging to all the families of Is′sachar were in all eighty-seven thousand mighty warriors, enrolled by genealogy.

Descendants of Benjamin

The sons of Benjamin: Bela, Becher, and Jedi′a-el, three. The sons of Bela: Ezbon, Uzzi, Uz′ziel, Jer′imoth, and Iri, five, heads of fathers’ houses, mighty warriors; and their enrollment by genealogies was twenty-two thousand and thirty-four. The sons of Becher: Zemi′rah, Jo′ash, Elie′zer, Eli-o-e′nai, Omri, Jer′emoth, Abi′jah, An′athoth, and Al′emeth. All these were the sons of Becher; and their enrollment by genealogies, according to their generations, as heads of their fathers’ houses, mighty warriors, was twenty thousand two hundred. 10 The sons of Jedi′a-el: Bilhan. And the sons of Bilhan: Je′ush, Benjamin, Ehud, Chena′anah, Zethan, Tarshish, and Ahish′ahar. 11 All these were the sons of Jedi′a-el according to the heads of their fathers’ houses, mighty warriors, seventeen thousand and two hundred, ready for service in war. 12 And Shuppim and Huppim were the sons of Ir, Hushim the sons of Aher.

Descendants of Naphtali

13 The sons of Naph′tali: Jah′zi-el, Guni, Jezer, and Shallum, the offspring of Bilhah.

Descendants of Manasseh

14 The sons of Manas′seh: As′ri-el, whom his Aramean concubine bore; she bore Machir the father of Gilead. 15 And Machir took a wife for Huppim and for Shuppim. The name of his sister was Ma′acah. And the name of the second was Zelo′phehad; and Zelo′phehad had daughters. 16 And Ma′acah the wife of Machir bore a son, and she called his name Peresh; and the name of his brother was Sheresh; and his sons were Ulam and Rakem. 17 The sons of Ulam: Bedan. These were the sons of Gilead the son of Machir, son of Manas′seh. 18 And his sister Hammo′lecheth bore Ishhod, Abi-e′zer, and Mahlah. 19 The sons of Shemi′da were Ahi′an, Shechem, Likhi, and Ani′am.

Descendants of Ephraim

20 The sons of E′phraim: Shuthe′lah, and Bered his son, Tahath his son, Ele-a′dah his son, Tahath his son, 21 Zabad his son, Shuthe′lah his son, and Ezer and E′le-ad, whom the men of Gath who were born in the land slew, because they came down to raid their cattle. 22 And E′phraim their father mourned many days, and his brothers came to comfort him. 23 And E′phraim went in to his wife, and she conceived and bore a son; and he called his name Beri′ah, because evil had befallen his house. 24 His daughter was She′erah, who built both Lower and Upper Beth-hor′on, and Uz′zen-she′erah. 25 Rephah was his son, Resheph his son, Telah his son, Tahan his son, 26 Ladan his son, Ammi′hud his son, Elish′ama his son, 27 Nun his son, Joshua his son. 28 Their possessions and settlements were Bethel and its towns, and eastward Na′aran, and westward Gezer and its towns, Shechem and its towns, and Ayyah and its towns; 29 also along the borders of the Manas′sites, Beth-she′an and its towns, Ta′anach and its towns, Megid′do and its towns, Dor and its towns. In these dwelt the sons of Joseph the son of Israel.

Descendants of Asher

30 The sons of Asher: Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi, Beri′ah, and their sister Serah. 31 The sons of Beri′ah: Heber and Mal′chi-el, who was the father of Bir′zaith. 32 Heber was the father of Japhlet, Shomer, Hotham, and their sister Shu′a. 33 The sons of Japhlet: Pasach, Bimhal, and Ashvath. These are the sons of Japhlet. 34 The sons of Shemer his brother: Rohgah, Jehub′bah, and Aram. 35 The sons of Helem his brother: Zophah, Imna, Shelesh, and Amal. 36 The sons of Zophah: Su′ah, Har′nepher, Shu′al, Beri, Imrah. 37 Bezer, Hod, Shamma, Shilshah, Ithran, and Be-e′ra. 38 The sons of Jether: Jephun′neh, Pispa, and Ara. 39 The sons of Ulla: Arah, Han′niel, and Rizi′a. 40 All of these were men of Asher, heads of fathers’ houses, approved, mighty warriors, chief of the princes. Their number enrolled by genealogies, for service in war, was twenty-six thousand men.

The Family of Issachar(A)

The Family of Benjamin(D)

The sons of (E)Benjamin were Bela, Becher, and Jediael—three in all. The sons of Bela were Ezbon, Uzzi, Uzziel, Jerimoth, and Iri—five in all. They were heads of their fathers’ houses, and they were listed by their genealogies, twenty-two thousand and thirty-four mighty men of valor.

The sons of Becher were Zemirah, Joash, Eliezer, Elioenai, Omri, Jerimoth, Abijah, Anathoth, and Alemeth. All these are the sons of Becher. And they were recorded by genealogy according to their generations, heads of their fathers’ houses, twenty thousand two hundred mighty men of valor. 10 The son of Jediael was Bilhan, and the sons of Bilhan were Jeush, Benjamin, Ehud, Chenaanah, Zethan, Tharshish, and Ahishahar.

11 All these sons of Jediael were heads of their fathers’ houses; there were seventeen thousand two hundred mighty men of valor fit to go out for war and battle. 12 [c]Shuppim and [d]Huppim were the sons of [e]Ir, and Hushim was the son of [f]Aher.

The Family of Naphtali(F)

13 The (G)sons of Naphtali were [g]Jahziel, Guni, Jezer, and [h]Shallum, the sons of Bilhah.

The Family of Manasseh (West)

14 The (H)descendants of Manasseh: his Syrian concubine bore him (I)Machir the father of Gilead, the father of Asriel. 15 Machir took as his wife the sister of [i]Huppim and [j]Shuppim, whose name was Maachah. The name of Gilead’s [k]grandson was (J)Zelophehad, but Zelophehad begot only daughters. 16 (Maachah the wife of Machir bore a son, and she called his name Peresh. The name of his brother was Sheresh, and his sons were Ulam and Rakem. 17 The son of Ulam was (K)Bedan.) These were the descendants of Gilead the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh.

18 His sister Hammoleketh bore Ishhod, [l]Abiezer, and Mahlah.

19 And the sons of Shemida were Ahian, Shechem, Likhi, and Aniam.

The Family of Ephraim

20 (L)The sons of Ephraim were Shuthelah, Bered his son, Tahath his son, Eladah his son, Tahath his son, 21 Zabad his son, Shuthelah his son, and Ezer and Elead. The men of Gath who were born in that land killed them because they came down to take away their cattle. 22 Then Ephraim their father mourned many days, and his brethren came to comfort him.

23 And when he went in to his wife, she conceived and bore a son; and he called his name [m]Beriah, because tragedy had come upon his house. 24 Now his daughter was Sheerah, who built Lower and Upper (M)Beth Horon and Uzzen Sheerah; 25 and Rephah was his son, as well as Resheph, and Telah his son, Tahan his son, 26 Laadan his son, Ammihud his son, (N)Elishama his son, 27 [n]Nun his son, and (O)Joshua his son.

28 Now their (P)possessions and dwelling places were Bethel and its towns: to the east [o]Naaran, to the west Gezer and its towns, and Shechem and its towns, as far as [p]Ayyah and its towns; 29 and by the borders of the children of (Q)Manasseh were Beth Shean and its towns, Taanach and its towns, (R)Megiddo and its towns, Dor and its towns. The Family of Asher(S)

30 (T)The sons of Asher were Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi, Beriah, and their sister Serah. 31 The sons of Beriah were Heber and Malchiel, who was the father of [q]Birzaith. 32 And Heber begot Japhlet, [r]Shomer, [s]Hotham, and their sister Shua. 33 The sons of Japhlet were Pasach, Bimhal, and Ashvath. These were the children of Japhlet. 34 The sons of (U)Shemer were Ahi, Rohgah, Jehubbah, and Aram. 35 And the sons of his brother Helem were Zophah, Imna, Shelesh, and Amal. 36 The sons of Zophah were Suah, Harnepher, Shual, Beri, Imrah, 37 Bezer, Hod, Shamma, Shilshah, [t]Jithran, and Beera. 38 The sons of Jether were Jephunneh, Pispah, and Ara. 39 The sons of Ulla were Arah, Haniel, and Rizia.

40 All these were the children of Asher, heads of their fathers’ houses, choice men, mighty men of valor, chief leaders. And they were recorded by genealogies among the army fit for battle; their number was twenty-six thousand.

Si Makir ang ama ni Gilead, 15 at siya ang naghanap ng asawa para kina Hupim at Shupim.[e] May kapatid na babae si Makir na ang pangalan ay Maaca. Ang isa pang anak ni Makir ay si Zelofehad na ang mga anak ay puro babae. 16 May mga anak ding lalaki si Makir kay Maaca na ang mga pangalan ay Peresh at Sheresh. Ang mga anak na lalaki ni Peresh ay sina Ulam at Rakem. 17 Ang anak na lalaki ni Ulam ay si Bedan. Sila ang mga angkan ni Gilead na anak ni Makir, at apo ni Manase. 18 Ang kapatid na babae ni Gilead na si Hammoleket ay may mga anak na lalaki na sina Ishod, Abiezer at Mala.

19 Ang mga anak na lalaki ni Shemida ay sina Ahian, Shekem, Likhi at Aniam.

Ang Lahi ni Efraim

20 Ito ang lahi ni Efraim: si Shutela na ama ni Bered, si Bered na ama ni Tahat, si Tahat na ama ni Eleada, si Eleada na ama ni Tahat, 21 si Tahat na ama ni Zabad, si Zabad na ama ni Shutela. 28 Ang lupaing natanggap at tinirhan ng lahi ni Efraim ay ang Betel at ang mga baryo sa paligid nito, ang Naaran sa bandang silangan, ang Gezer sa kanluran at ang mga baryo sa paligid nito, ang Shekem at ang mga baryo sa paligid nito papunta sa Aya at sa mga baryo nito. 29 Ang lahi ni Manase ang nagmamay-ari sa mga lungsod ng Bet Shan, Taanac, Megido at Dor, pati sa mga baryo sa paligid nito. 30 Ang mga anak na lalaki ni Asher ay sina Imna, Ishva, Ishvi at Beria. Ang kapatid nilang babae ay si Sera. 31 Ang mga anak na lalaki ni Beria ay sina Heber at Malkiel. Si Malkiel ang ama ni Birzait. 32 Si Heber ang ama nina Jaflet, Shomer, at Hotam. Ang kapatid nilang babae ay si Shua. 33 Ang mga anak na lalaki ni Jaflet ay sina Pasac, Bimhal at Asvat.

34 Ang mga anak na lalaki ni Shomer ay sina Ahi, Roga,[h] Hubba at Aram. 35 Ang mga anak na lalaki ng kapatid ni Shomer na si Helem[i] ay sina Zofa, Imna, Sheles at Amal. 36 Ang mga anak na lalaki ni Zofa ay sina Shua, Harnefer, Shual, Beri, Imra, 37 Bezer, Hod, Shama, Shilsha, Itran,[j] at Beera. 38 Ang mga anak na lalaki ni Jeter ay sina Jefune, Pispa at Ara. 39 Ang mga anak na lalaki ni Ula ay sina Ara, Haniel at Rizia. 40 Silang lahat ang lahi ni Asher na pinuno ng kanilang mga pamilya. The sons of Tola:

Uzzi, Rephaiah, Jeriel, Jahmai, Ibsam and Samuel—heads of their families. During the reign of David, the descendants of Tola listed as fighting men in their genealogy numbered 22,600.

The son of Uzzi:

Izrahiah.

The sons of Izrahiah:

Michael, Obadiah, Joel and Ishiah. All five of them were chiefs. According to their family genealogy, they had 36,000 men ready for battle, for they had many wives and children.

The relatives who were fighting men belonging to all the clans of Issachar, as listed in their genealogy, were 87,000 in all.

Benjamin

Three sons of Benjamin:(C)

Bela, Beker and Jediael.

The sons of Bela:

Ezbon, Uzzi, Uzziel, Jerimoth and Iri, heads of families—five in all. Their genealogical record listed 22,034 fighting men.

The sons of Beker:

Zemirah, Joash, Eliezer, Elioenai, Omri, Jeremoth, Abijah, Anathoth and Alemeth. All these were the sons of Beker. Their genealogical record listed the heads of families and 20,200 fighting men.

10 The son of Jediael:

Bilhan.

The sons of Bilhan:

Jeush, Benjamin, Ehud, Kenaanah, Zethan, Tarshish and Ahishahar. 11 All these sons of Jediael were heads of families. There were 17,200 fighting men ready to go out to war.

12 The Shuppites and Huppites were the descendants of Ir, and the Hushites[a] the descendants of Aher.

Naphtali

13 The sons of Naphtali:(D)

Jahziel, Guni, Jezer and Shillem[b]—the descendants of Bilhah.

Manasseh

14 The descendants of Manasseh:(E)

Asriel was his descendant through his Aramean concubine. She gave birth to Makir the father of Gilead.(F) 15 Makir took a wife from among the Huppites and Shuppites. His sister’s name was Maakah.

Another descendant was named Zelophehad,(G) who had only daughters.

16 Makir’s wife Maakah gave birth to a son and named him Peresh. His brother was named Sheresh, and his sons were Ulam and Rakem.

17 The son of Ulam:

Bedan.

These were the sons of Gilead(H) son of Makir, the son of Manasseh. 18 His sister Hammoleketh gave birth to Ishhod, Abiezer(I) and Mahlah.

19 The sons of Shemida(J) were:

Ahian, Shechem, Likhi and Aniam.

Ephraim

20 The descendants of Ephraim:(K)

Shuthelah, Bered his son,

Tahath his son, Eleadah his son,

Tahath his son, 21 Zabad his son

and Shuthelah his son.

Ezer and Elead were killed by the native-born men of Gath, when they went down to seize their livestock. 22 Their father Ephraim mourned for them many days, and his relatives came to comfort him. 23 Then he made love to his wife again, and she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. He named him Beriah,[c] because there had been misfortune in his family. 24 His daughter was Sheerah, who built Lower and Upper Beth Horon(L) as well as Uzzen Sheerah.

25 Rephah was his son, Resheph his son,[d]

Telah his son, Tahan his son,

26 Ladan his son, Ammihud his son,

Elishama his son, 27 Nun his son

and Joshua his son.

28 Their lands and settlements included Bethel and its surrounding villages, Naaran to the east, Gezer(M) and its villages to the west, and Shechem and its villages all the way to Ayyah and its villages. 29 Along the borders of Manasseh were Beth Shan,(N) Taanach, Megiddo and Dor,(O) together with their villages. The descendants of Joseph son of Israel lived in these towns.

Asher

30 The sons of Asher:(P)

Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi and Beriah. Their sister was Serah.

31 The sons of Beriah:

Heber and Malkiel, who was the father of Birzaith.

32 Heber was the father of Japhlet, Shomer and Hotham and of their sister Shua.

33 The sons of Japhlet:

Pasak, Bimhal and Ashvath.

These were Japhlet’s sons.

34 The sons of Shomer:

Ahi, Rohgah,[e] Hubbah and Aram.

35 The sons of his brother Helem:

Zophah, Imna, Shelesh and Amal.

36 The sons of Zophah:

Suah, Harnepher, Shual, Beri, Imrah, 37 Bezer, Hod, Shamma, Shilshah, Ithran[f] and Beera.

38 The sons of Jether:

Jephunneh, Pispah and Ara.

39 The sons of Ulla:

Arah, Hanniel and Rizia.

40 All these were descendants of Asher—heads of families, choice men, brave warriors and outstanding leaders. The number of men ready for battle, as listed in their genealogy, was 26,000.
