The Family of Issachar(A)
7 The sons of Issachar were (B)Tola, [a]Puah, [b]Jashub, and Shimron—four in all. 2 The sons of Tola were Uzzi, Rephaiah, Jeriel, Jahmai, Jibsam, and Shemuel, heads of their father’s house. The sons of Tola were mighty men of valor in their generations; (C)their number in the days of David was twenty-two thousand six hundred. 3 The son of Uzzi was Izrahiah, and the sons of Izrahiah were Michael, Obadiah, Joel, and Ishiah. All five of them were chief men. 4 And with them, by their generations, according to their fathers’ houses, were thirty-six thousand troops ready for war; for they had many wives and sons.
5 Now their brethren among all the families of Issachar were mighty men of valor, listed by their genealogies, eighty-seven thousand in all.
The Family of Benjamin(D)
6 The sons of (E)Benjamin were Bela, Becher, and Jediael—three in all. 7 The sons of Bela were Ezbon, Uzzi, Uzziel, Jerimoth, and Iri—five in all. They were heads of their fathers’ houses, and they were listed by their genealogies, twenty-two thousand and thirty-four mighty men of valor.
8 The sons of Becher were Zemirah, Joash, Eliezer, Elioenai, Omri, Jerimoth, Abijah, Anathoth, and Alemeth. All these are the sons of Becher. 9 And they were recorded by genealogy according to their generations, heads of their fathers’ houses, twenty thousand two hundred mighty men of valor. 10 The son of Jediael was Bilhan, and the sons of Bilhan were Jeush, Benjamin, Ehud, Chenaanah, Zethan, Tharshish, and Ahishahar.
11 All these sons of Jediael were heads of their fathers’ houses; there were seventeen thousand two hundred mighty men of valor fit to go out for war and battle. 12 [c]Shuppim and [d]Huppim were the sons of [e]Ir, and Hushim was the son of [f]Aher.
The Family of Naphtali(F)
13 The (G)sons of Naphtali were [g]Jahziel, Guni, Jezer, and [h]Shallum, the sons of Bilhah.
The Family of Manasseh (West)
14 The (H)descendants of Manasseh: his Syrian concubine bore him (I)Machir the father of Gilead, the father of Asriel. 15 Machir took as his wife the sister of [i]Huppim and [j]Shuppim, whose name was Maachah. The name of Gilead’s [k]grandson was (J)Zelophehad, but Zelophehad begot only daughters. 16 (Maachah the wife of Machir bore a son, and she called his name Peresh. The name of his brother was Sheresh, and his sons were Ulam and Rakem. 17 The son of Ulam was (K)Bedan.) These were the descendants of Gilead the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh.
18 His sister Hammoleketh bore Ishhod, [l]Abiezer, and Mahlah.
19 And the sons of Shemida were Ahian, Shechem, Likhi, and Aniam.
The Family of Ephraim
20 (L)The sons of Ephraim were Shuthelah, Bered his son, Tahath his son, Eladah his son, Tahath his son, 21 Zabad his son, Shuthelah his son, and Ezer and Elead. The men of Gath who were born in that land killed them because they came down to take away their cattle. 22 Then Ephraim their father mourned many days, and his brethren came to comfort him.
23 And when he went in to his wife, she conceived and bore a son; and he called his name [m]Beriah, because tragedy had come upon his house. 24 Now his daughter was Sheerah, who built Lower and Upper (M)Beth Horon and Uzzen Sheerah; 25 and Rephah was his son, as well as Resheph, and Telah his son, Tahan his son, 26 Laadan his son, Ammihud his son, (N)Elishama his son, 27 [n]Nun his son, and (O)Joshua his son.
28 Now their (P)possessions and dwelling places were Bethel and its towns: to the east [o]Naaran, to the west Gezer and its towns, and Shechem and its towns, as far as [p]Ayyah and its towns; 29 and by the borders of the children of (Q)Manasseh were Beth Shean and its towns, Taanach and its towns, (R)Megiddo and its towns, Dor and its towns. In these dwelt the children of Joseph, the son of Israel.
The Family of Asher(S)
30 (T)The sons of Asher were Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi, Beriah, and their sister Serah. 31 The sons of Beriah were Heber and Malchiel, who was the father of [q]Birzaith. 32 And Heber begot Japhlet, [r]Shomer, [s]Hotham, and their sister Shua. 33 The sons of Japhlet were Pasach, Bimhal, and Ashvath. These were the children of Japhlet. 34 The sons of (U)Shemer were Ahi, Rohgah, Jehubbah, and Aram. 35 And the sons of his brother Helem were Zophah, Imna, Shelesh, and Amal. 36 The sons of Zophah were Suah, Harnepher, Shual, Beri, Imrah, 37 Bezer, Hod, Shamma, Shilshah, [t]Jithran, and Beera. 38 The sons of Jether were Jephunneh, Pispah, and Ara. 39 The sons of Ulla were Arah, Haniel, and Rizia.
40 All these were the children of Asher, heads of their fathers’ houses, choice men, mighty men of valor, chief leaders. And they were recorded by genealogies among the army fit for battle; their number was twenty-six thousand.

7 (A)I figli d’Issacar furono: Tola, Pua, Iasub e Simron, quattro in tutto. 2 I figli di Tola furono: Uzzi, Refaia, Ieriel, Iamai, Ibsam e Samuele, capi delle case patriarcali discese da Tola; ed erano uomini forti e valorosi nelle loro generazioni; il loro numero, al tempo di Davide, era di ventiduemilaseicento. 3 Il figlio di Uzzi fu Izraia e i figli di Izraia furono: Micael, Abdia, Ioel e Issia; in tutto erano cinque capi. 4 Avevano con loro, secondo le loro genealogie, secondo le loro case patriarcali, trentaseimila uomini in schiere armate per la guerra; perché avevano molte mogli e molti figli. 5 I loro fratelli, contando tutte le famiglie d’Issacar, uomini forti e valorosi, formavano un totale di ottantasettemila, iscritti nelle genealogie.
6 (B)I figli di Beniamino furono: Bela, Becher e Iediael; tre in tutto. 7 I figli di Bela furono: Esbon, Uzzi, Uzziel, Ierimot e Iri; cinque capi di case patriarcali, uomini forti e valorosi, iscritti nelle genealogie in numero di ventiduemilatrentaquattro. 8 I figli di Becher furono: Zemira, Ioas, Eliezer, Elioenai, Omri, Ieremot, Abiia, Anatot e Alemet. Tutti questi erano figli di Becher 9 e iscritti nelle genealogie, secondo le loro generazioni, come capi di case patriarcali, uomini forti e valorosi, in numero di ventimiladuecento. 10 Il figlio di Iediael fu Bilan. I figli di Bilan furono: Ieus, Beniamino, Eud, Chenaana, Zetan, Tarsis e Aisaar. 11 Tutti questi erano figli di Iediael, capi di case patriarcali, uomini forti e valorosi in numero di diciassettemiladuecento pronti a partire per la guerra.
12 Suppim e Cuppim furono figli d’Ir; Cusim fu figlio di Acher[a].
13 I figli di Neftali furono: Iacasiel, Guni, Ieser, Sallum, discendenti di Bila.
Discendenti di Manasse, Efraim e Ascer
14 (C)Figli di Manasse furono Asriel…, che gli furono partoriti dalla moglie. La sua concubina sira partorì Machir, padre di Galaad; 15 Machir prese una moglie per Cuppim e una per Suppim, e la sorella di lui si chiamava Maaca. Il nome del suo secondo figlio era Selofead; e Selofead ebbe delle figlie. 16 Maaca, moglie di Machir, partorì un figlio, che chiamò Perez; questi ebbe un fratello di nome Seres, i cui figli furono Ulam e Rechem. 17 Il figlio di Ulam fu Bedan. Questi furono i figli di Galaad, figlio di Machir, figlio di Manasse. 18 Sua sorella Ammolechet partorì Isod, Abiezer e Mala. 19 I figli di Semida furono Aian, Sechem, Lichi e Aniam.
20 Il figlio di Efraim fu Sutela, che ebbe per figlio Bered, che ebbe per figlio Taat, che ebbe per figlio Eleada, che ebbe per figlio Taat, 21 che ebbe per figlio Zabad, che ebbe per figli Sutela, Ezer ed Elead, i quali furono uccisi dagli uomini di Gat, nativi del paese, perché erano scesi a predare il loro bestiame. 22 Efraim, loro padre, li pianse per molto tempo, e i suoi fratelli vennero a consolarlo. 23 Poi entrò da sua moglie, la quale concepì e partorì un figlio; ed egli lo chiamò Beria[b], perché questo era avvenuto durante la sua afflizione in casa. 24 Efraim ebbe per figlia Seera, che costruì Bet-Oron, la inferiore e la superiore, e Uzzen-Seera. 25 Ebbe ancora per figli: Refa e Resef; tra questi Refa ebbe per figlio Tela, che ebbe per figlio Taan, 26 che ebbe per figlio Ladan, che ebbe per figlio Ammiud, che ebbe per figlio Elisama, 27 che ebbe per figlio Nun, che ebbe per figlio Giosuè. 28 Le loro proprietà e abitazioni furono Betel e le città che ne dipendevano: dalla parte d’oriente, Naaran; da occidente, Ghezer con i villaggi vicini, Sichem con le città che ne dipendevano, fino a Gaza con le città che ne dipendevano. 29 I figli di Manasse possedevano: Bet-Sean e le città che ne dipendevano, Taanac e le città che ne dipendevano, Meghiddo e le città che ne dipendevano, Dor e le città che ne dipendevano. In queste città abitarono i figli di Giuseppe, figlio d’Israele.
30 (D)I figli di Ascer furono: Imna, Isva, Isvi, Beria e Sera, loro sorella. 31 I figli di Beria furono: Eber e Malchiel. Malchiel fu padre di Birzavit. 32 Eber generò Iaflet, Somer, Otam e Sua, loro sorella. 33 I figli di Iaflet furono: Pasac, Bimal e Asvat. Questi sono i figli di Iaflet. 34 I figli di Semer furono: Ai, Roega, Gecubba e Aram. 35 I figli di Chelem, suo fratello, furono: Sofa, Imna, Seles e Amal. 36 I figli di Sofa furono: Sua, Carnefer, Sual, Beri, Imra, 37 Beser, Od, Samma, Silsa, Itran e Beera. 38 I figli di Ieter furono: Gefunne, Pispa e Ara. 39 I figli di Ulla furono: Ara, Canniel e Risia. 40 Tutti questi furono figli di Ascer, capi di case patriarcali, uomini scelti, forti e valorosi, i primi tra i capi iscritti per il servizio militare in numero di ventiseimila uomini.
