Issachar’s Descendants

Issachar’s sons:(A) Tola, Puah, Jashub, and Shimron—four.
Tola’s sons: Uzzi, Rephaiah, Jeriel, Jahmai, Ibsam, and Shemuel, the heads of their ancestral houses. During David’s reign, 22,600 descendants of Tola were recorded as warriors in their genealogies.(B)
Uzzi’s son: Izrahiah.
Izrahiah’s sons: Michael, Obadiah, Joel, Isshiah. All five of them were chiefs. Along with them, they had 36,000 troops for battle according to the genealogical records of their ancestral houses, for they had many wives and children. Their tribesmen who were warriors belonging to all the families of Issachar totaled 87,000 in their genealogies.

Benjamin’s Descendants

Three(C) of Benjamin’s sons: Bela, Becher, and Jediael.
Bela’s sons: Ezbon, Uzzi, Uzziel, Jerimoth, and Iri—five. They were warriors and heads of their ancestral houses; 22,034 were listed in their genealogies.
Becher’s sons: Zemirah, Joash, Eliezer, Elioenai, Omri, Jeremoth, Abijah, Anathoth, and Alemeth; all these were Becher’s sons. Their genealogies were recorded according to the heads of their ancestral houses—20,200 warriors.
10 Jediael’s son: Bilhan.
Bilhan’s sons: Jeush, Benjamin, Ehud, Chenaanah, Zethan, Tarshish, and Ahishahar. 11 All these sons of Jediael listed by heads of families were warriors; there were 17,200 who could serve in the army. 12 Shuppim and Huppim were sons of Ir, and the Hushim were the sons of Aher.

Naphtali’s Descendants

13 Naphtali’s sons:(D) Jahziel, Guni, Jezer, and Shallum—Bilhah’s sons.

Manasseh’s Descendants

14 Manasseh’s(E) sons through his Aramean concubine: Asriel and Machir the father of Gilead. 15 Machir took wives from Huppim and Shuppim. The name of his sister was Maacah. Another descendant was named Zelophehad, but he had only daughters.
16 Machir’s wife Maacah gave birth to a son, and she named him Peresh. His brother was named Sheresh, and his sons were Ulam and Rekem.
17 Ulam’s son: Bedan. These were the sons of Gilead son of Machir, son of Manasseh. 18 His sister Hammolecheth gave birth to Ishhod, Abiezer, and Mahlah.
19 Shemida’s sons: Ahian, Shechem, Likhi, and Aniam.

Ephraim’s Descendants

20 Ephraim’s(F) sons: Shuthelah, and his son Bered,
his son Tahath, his son Eleadah,
his son Tahath, 21 his son Zabad,
his son Shuthelah, also Ezer, and Elead.

The men of Gath, born in the land, killed them because they went down to raid their cattle. 22 Their father Ephraim mourned a long time, and his relatives[a] came to comfort him. 23 He slept with his wife, and she conceived and gave birth to a son. So he named him Beriah, because there had been misfortune in his home.[b] 24 His daughter was Sheerah, who built Lower and Upper Beth-horon(G) and Uzzen-sheerah,

25 his son Rephah,[c] his son Resheph,
his son Telah, his son Tahan,
26 his son Ladan, his son Ammihud,
his son Elishama, 27 his son Nun,
and his son Joshua.(H)

28 Their holdings and settlements were Bethel(I) and its villages; Naaran to the east, Gezer and its villages to the west, and Shechem and its villages as far as Ayyah and its villages, 29 and along the borders of the sons of Manasseh, Beth-shean and its villages, Taanach and its villages, Megiddo and its villages, and Dor and its villages. The sons of Joseph son of Israel lived in these towns.

Asher’s Descendants

30 Asher’s(J) sons: Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi, and Beriah, with their sister Serah.
31 Beriah’s sons: Heber, and Malchiel, who fathered Birzaith.
32 Heber fathered Japhlet, Shomer, and Hotham, with their sister Shua.
33 Japhlet’s sons: Pasach, Bimhal, and Ashvath. These were Japhlet’s sons.
34 Shemer’s sons: Ahi, Rohgah, Hubbah, and Aram.
35 His brother Helem’s sons: Zophah, Imna, Shelesh, and Amal.
36 Zophah’s sons: Suah, Harnepher, Shual, Beri, Imrah, 37 Bezer, Hod, Shamma, Shilshah, Ithran, and Beera.
38 Jether’s sons: Jephunneh, Pispa, and Ara.
39 Ulla’s sons: Arah, Hanniel, and Rizia.
40 All these were Asher’s sons. They were the heads of their ancestral houses, chosen men, warriors, and chiefs among the leaders. The number of men listed in their genealogies for military service was 26,000.

12 Y Suppim y Huppim fueron hijos de Hir: y Husim, hijo de Aher.

13 Los hijos de Nephtalí: Jaoel, Guni, Jezer, y Sallum, hijos de Bilha.

14 Los hijos de Manasés: Asriel, el cual le parió su concubina la Sira: (la cual también le parió á Machîr, padre de Galaad:

15 Y Machîr tomó por mujer la hermana de Huppim y Suppim, cuya hermana tuvo por nombre Maachâ:) y el nombre del segundo fué Salphaad. Y Salphaad tuvo hijas.

16 Y Maachâ mujer de Machîr le parió un hijo, y llamóle Peres; y el nombre de su hermano fué Seres, cuyos hijos fueron Ulam y Recem.

17 Hijo de Ulam fué Bedán. Estos fueron los hijos de Galaad, hijo de Machîr, hijo de Manasés.

18 Y su hermana Molechêt parió á Ischôd, y á Abiezer, y Mahala.

19 Y los hijos de Semida fueron Ahián, Sechêm, Licci, y Aniam.

20 Los hijos de Ephraim: Suthela, Bered su hijo, Thahath, Elada su hijo, Thahat su hijo,

21 Zabad su hijo, y Suthela su hijo, Ezer, y Ela0d. Mas los hijos de gath, naturales de aquella tierra, los mataron, porque vinieron á tomarles sus ganados.

22 Y Ephraim su padre hizo duelo por muchos días, y vinieron sus hermanos á consolarlo.

23 Entrando él después á su mujer ella concibió, y parió un hijo, al cual puso por nombre Bería; por cuanto había estado en aflicción en su casa

24 Y su hija fué Seera, la cual edificó á Beth-oron la baja y la alta, y á Uzzen-seera.

25 Hijo de este Bería fué Repha y Reseph, y Thela su hijo, y Taán su hijo,

26 Laadán su hijo, Ammiud su hijo, Elisama su hijo,

27 Nun su hijo, Josué su hijo.

28 Y la heredad y habitación de ellos fué Beth-el con sus aldeas: y hacia el oriente Naarán, y á la parte del occidente Gezer y sus aldeas: asimismo Sichêm con sus aldeas, hasta Asa y sus aldeas;

29 Y á la parte de los hijos de Manasés, Beth-seán con sus aldeas, Thanach con sus aldeas, Megiddo con sus aldeas, Dor con sus aldeas. En estos lugares habitaron los hijos de José, hijo de Israel.

30 Los hijos de Aser: Imna, Isua, Isui, Bería, y su hermana Sera.

31 Los hijos de Bería: Heber, y Machîel, el cual fué padre de Birzabith.

32 Y Heber engendró á Japhlet, Semer, Hotham, y Sua hermana de ellos.

33 Los hijos de Japhlet: Pasac, Bimhal, y Asvath. Aquestos los hijos de Japhlet.

34 Y los hijos de Semer: Ahi, Roega, Jehubba, y Aram.

35 Los hijos de Helem su hermano: Sopha, Imna, Selles, y Amal.

36 Los hijos de Sopha: Sua, Harnapher, Sual, Beri, Imra,

The sons of Tola, each of whom was the head of a subclan: Uzzi, Rephaiah, Jeriel, Jahmai, Ibsam, Shemuel.

At the time of King David, the total number of men of war from these families was 22,600.

Uzzi’s son was Izrahiah among whose five sons were Michael, Obadiah, Joel, and Isshiah, all chiefs of subclans. Their descendants, at the time of King David, numbered 36,000 troops; for all five of them had several wives and many sons. The total number of men available for military service from all the clans of the tribe of Issachar was 87,000 stouthearted warriors, all included in the official genealogy.

The sons of Benjamin were: Bela, Becher, Jediael.

The sons of Bela: Ezbon, Uzzi, Uzziel, Jerimoth, Iri.

These five mighty warriors were chiefs of subclans and were the leaders of 22,034 troops (all of whom were recorded in the official genealogies).

The sons of Becher were: Zemirah, Joash, Eliezer, Elioenai, Omri, Jeremoth, Abijah, Anathoth, Alemeth.

At the time of David there were 20,200 mighty warriors among their descendants; and they were led by their clan chiefs.

10 The son of Jediael was Bilhan.

The sons of Bilhan were: Jeush, Benjamin, Ehud, Chenaanah, Zethan, Tarshish, Ahishahar.

11 They were the chiefs of the subclans of Jediael, and their descendants included 17,200 warriors at the time of King David.

12 The sons of Ir were Shuppim and Huppim. Hushim was one of the sons of Aher.

13 The sons of Naphtali (descendants of Jacob’s wife[a] Bilhah) were: Jahziel, Guni, Jezer, Shallum.

14 The sons of Manasseh, born to his Aramaean concubine, were Asriel and Machir (who became the father of Gilead).

15 It was Machir who found wives for Huppim and Shuppim.[b] Machir’s sister was Maacah. Another descendant was Zelophehad, who had only daughters.

16 Machir’s wife, also named Maacah, bore him a son whom she named Peresh; his brother’s name was Sheresh, and he had sons named Ulam and Rakem.

17 Ulam’s son was Bedan. So these were the sons of Gilead, the grandsons of Machir, and the great-grandsons of Manasseh.

18 Hammolecheth, Machir’s sister, bore Ishhod, Abiezer, and Mahlah.

19 The sons of Shemida were Ahian, Shechem, Likhi, and Aniam.

20-21 The sons of Ephraim: Shuthelah, Bered, Tahath, Eleadah, Tahath, Zabad, Shuthelah, Ezer, Elead.

Elead and Ezer attempted to rustle cattle at Gath, but they were killed by the local farmers. 22 Their father Ephraim mourned for them a long time, and his brothers tried to comfort him. 23 Afterwards his wife conceived and bore a son whom he called Beriah (meaning “a tragedy”) because of what had happened.

24 Ephraim’s daughter’s name was Sheerah. She built Lower and Upper Beth-horon and Uzzen-sheerah.

25-27 This is Ephraim’s line of descent:

28 They lived in an area bounded on one side by Bethel and its surrounding towns, on the east by Naaran, on the west by Gezer and its villages, and finally by Shechem and its surrounding villages as far as Ayyah and its towns.

29 The tribe of Manasseh, descendants of Joseph the son of Israel, controlled the following cities and their surrounding areas: Beth-shean, Taanach, Megiddo, and Dor.

30 The children of Asher: Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi, Beriah, Serah (their sister).

31 The sons of Beriah were: Heber, Malchiel (the father of Birzaith).

32 Heber’s children were: Japhlet, Shomer, Hotham, Shua (their sister).

33 Japhlet’s sons were: Pasach, Bimhal, Ashvath.

34 His brother Shomer’s[c] sons were: Rohgah, Jehubbah, Aram.

35 The sons of his brother Hotham[d] were: Zophah, Imna, Shelesh, Amal.
