The Family of Reuben(A)
5 Now the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel—(B)he was indeed the firstborn, but because he (C)defiled his father’s bed, (D)his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph, the son of Israel, so that the genealogy is not listed according to the birthright; 2 yet (E)Judah prevailed over his brothers, and from him came a (F)ruler, although [a]the birthright was Joseph’s— 3 the sons of (G)Reuben the firstborn of Israel were Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.
4 The sons of Joel were Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son, 5 Micah his son, Reaiah his son, Baal his son, 6 and Beerah his son, whom [b]Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria (H)carried into captivity. He was leader of the Reubenites. 7 And his brethren by their families, (I)when the genealogy of their generations was registered: the chief, Jeiel, and Zechariah, 8 and Bela the son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel, who dwelt in (J)Aroer, as far as Nebo and Baal Meon. 9 Eastward they settled as far as the [c]entrance of the wilderness this side of the River Euphrates, because their cattle had [d]multiplied (K)in the land of Gilead.
10 Now in the days of Saul they made war (L)with the Hagrites, who fell by their hand; and they dwelt in their tents throughout the entire area east of Gilead.
The Family of Gad
11 And the (M)children of Gad dwelt next to them in the land of (N)Bashan as far as (O)Salcah: 12 Joel was the chief, Shapham the next, then Jaanai and Shaphat in Bashan, 13 and their brethren of their father’s house: Michael, Meshullam, Sheba, Jorai, Jachan, Zia, and Eber—seven in all. 14 These were the children of Abihail the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz; 15 Ahi the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni, was chief of their father’s house. 16 And the Gadites dwelt in Gilead, in Bashan and in its villages, and in all the [e]common-lands of (P)Sharon within their borders. 17 All these were registered by genealogies in the days of (Q)Jotham king of Judah, and in the days of (R)Jeroboam king of Israel.
18 The sons of Reuben, the Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh had forty-four thousand seven hundred and sixty valiant men, men able to bear shield and sword, to shoot with the bow, and skillful in war, who went to war. 19 They made war with the Hagrites, (S)Jetur, Naphish, and Nodab. 20 And (T)they were helped against them, and the Hagrites were delivered into their hand, and all who were with them, for they (U)cried out to God in the battle. He [f]heeded their prayer, because they (V)put their trust in Him. 21 Then they took away their livestock—fifty thousand of their camels, two hundred and fifty thousand of their sheep, and two thousand of their donkeys—also one hundred thousand of their men; 22 for many fell dead, because the war (W)was God’s. And they dwelt in their place until (X)the captivity.
The Family of Manasseh (East)
23 So the children of the half-tribe of Manasseh dwelt in the land. Their numbers increased from Bashan to Baal Hermon, that is, to (Y)Senir, or Mount Hermon. 24 These were the heads of their fathers’ houses: Epher, Ishi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremiah, Hodaviah, and Jahdiel. They were mighty men of valor, famous men, and heads of their fathers’ houses.
25 And they were unfaithful to the God of their fathers, and (Z)played the harlot after the gods of the peoples of the land, whom God had destroyed before them. 26 So the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of (AA)Pul king of Assyria, that is, (AB)Tiglath-Pileser[g] king of Assyria. He carried the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh into captivity. He took them to (AC)Halah, Habor, Hara, and the river of Gozan to this day.

5 Y los hijos de Rubén(A), el primogénito de Israel (porque él era el primogénito, mas como profanó la cama de su padre(B), sus derechos de primogenitura fueron dados a los hijos de José(C), hijo de Israel; de modo que no está inscrito en la genealogía conforme a los derechos de primogenitura; 2 aunque Judá(D) prevaleció sobre sus hermanos, y de él procedió el príncipe(E), los derechos de primogenitura pertenecían a José), 3 fueron, pues, los hijos de Rubén, el primogénito de Israel: Hanoc, Falú, Hezrón y Carmi(F). 4 Los hijos de Joel fueron Semaías su hijo, Gog su hijo, Simei(G) su hijo, 5 Micaía su hijo, Reaía su hijo, Baal su hijo, 6 Beera su hijo, a quien Tilgat-pilneser[a], rey de los asirios, se llevó al destierro; este fue jefe de los rubenitas. 7 Sus parientes[b], por sus familias, en la genealogía de sus generaciones(H), fueron Jeiel el jefe, después Zacarías 8 y Bela, hijo de Azaz, hijo de Sema, hijo de Joel, que habitó en Aroer(I) hasta Nebo y Baal-meón. 9 Y hacia el oriente habitó hasta la entrada del desierto desde el río Eufrates, porque su ganado había aumentado en la tierra de Galaad(J). 10 En los días de Saúl hicieron guerra contra los agarenos, los cuales cayeron en sus manos, de modo que ellos ocuparon[c] sus tiendas por toda la tierra al oriente[d] de Galaad(K).
11 Y los hijos de Gad habitaron frente a ellos en la tierra de Basán, hasta Salca(L). 12 Joel fue el jefe, y Safán el segundo, después Jaanai y Safat en Basán. 13 Y los parientes de sus casas paternas fueron Micael, Mesulam, Seba, Jorai, Jacán, Zía y Heber: siete. 14 Estos fueron los hijos de Abihail, hijo de Huri, hijo de Jaroa, hijo de Galaad, hijo de Micael, hijo de Jesisai, hijo de Jahdo, hijo de Buz; 15 Ahí, hijo de Abdiel, hijo de Guni, fue jefe de sus casas paternas. 16 Y habitaron en Galaad, en Basán y en sus ciudades, y en todos los ejidos de Sarón(M), hasta sus fronteras[e]. 17 Todos estos fueron inscritos por genealogías en los días de Jotam, rey de Judá(N), y en los días de Jeroboam, rey de Israel(O).
18 Los hijos de Rubén y de Gad y la media tribu de Manasés, hombres valientes, hombres que traían escudo y espada y tiraban con arco, y que eran diestros en batalla, fueron cuarenta y cuatro mil setecientos sesenta que salían a la batalla(P). 19 E hicieron guerra contra los agarenos(Q), Jetur(R), Nafis y Nodab. 20 Y Dios les ayudó[f] contra ellos, y los agarenos y todos los que estaban con ellos fueron entregados en sus manos; porque clamaron a Dios en la batalla(S), y Él fue propicio a ellos porque confiaron en Él(T). 21 Y tomaron sus ganados: cincuenta mil camellos, doscientas cincuenta mil ovejas, dos mil asnos; también cien mil hombres[g]. 22 Muchos, pues, cayeron muertos, porque la guerra era de Dios(U). Y habitaron en su lugar(V) hasta el destierro(W).
23 Los hijos de la media tribu de Manasés habitaron en la tierra; eran muy numerosos desde Basán hasta Baal-hermón, Senir y el monte Hermón(X). 24 Y estos fueron los jefes de sus casas paternas: Efer, Isi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremías, Hodavías y Jahdiel, hombres fuertes de gran valor, hombres de renombre, jefes de sus casas paternas.
25 Pero traicionaron al Dios de sus padres(Y), y se prostituyeron con los dioses de los pueblos de la tierra(Z), los cuales Dios había destruido delante de ellos(AA). 26 Por lo cual el Dios de Israel movió el espíritu de Pul, rey de Asiria, o sea, el espíritu de Tilgat-pilneser, rey de Asiria(AB), y los llevó al destierro, es decir, a los rubenitas, a los gaditas y a la media tribu de Manasés, y los llevó a Halah, a Habor, a Hara y al río de Gozán, hasta el día de hoy(AC).
