9 But Jabez was more honorable than his brethren: and his mother called his name [a]Jabez, saying, Because I bare him in sorrow.
10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, If thou wilt bless me in deed, and enlarge my coasts, and [b]if thine hand be with me, and thou wilt cause me to be delivered from evil, that I be not hurt. And God granted the thing that he asked.
11 ¶ And Chelub the brother of Shuhah begat Mehir, which was the father of Eshton.

10 Det var han som ropade och bad till Israels Gud: Välsigna mig och utvidga mitt område! Var med mig i allt jag gör och bevara mig från olycka och smärta! Gud hörde hans bön och gav honom vad han begärde.
11-12 Kelub, Suhas bror, var far till Mehir, som var far till Eston. Eston var far till Bet-Rafa, Pasea och Tehinna. Tehinna var far till Ir-Nahas. Dessa var från Reka.

9 Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother had named him Jabez,[a] saying, “I gave birth to him in pain.” 10 Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.
11 Kelub, Shuhah’s brother, was the father of Mehir, who was the father of Eshton.
