Military Divisions
27 This is the number of the people of Israel, the heads of fathers' houses, the commanders of thousands and hundreds, and their officers who served the king in all matters concerning the divisions that came and went, month after month throughout the year, each division numbering 24,000:
2 (A)Jashobeam the son of Zabdiel was in charge of the first division in the first month; in his division were 24,000. 3 He was a (B)descendant of Perez and was chief of all the commanders. He served for the first month. 4 (C)Dodai the Ahohite[a] was in charge of the division of the second month; in his division were 24,000. 5 The third commander, for the third month, was (D)Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada the chief priest; in his division were 24,000. 6 This is the Benaiah (E)who was a mighty man of the thirty and in command of the thirty; Ammizabad his son was in charge of his division.[b] 7 (F)Asahel the brother of Joab was fourth, for the fourth month, and his son Zebadiah after him; in his division were 24,000. 8 The fifth commander, for the fifth month, was (G)Shamhuth the Izrahite; in his division were 24,000. 9 Sixth, for the sixth month, was (H)Ira, the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite; in his division were 24,000. 10 Seventh, for the seventh month, was (I)Helez the Pelonite, of the sons of Ephraim; in his division were 24,000. 11 Eighth, for the eighth month, was (J)Sibbecai the Hushathite, of the Zerahites; in his division were 24,000. 12 Ninth, for the ninth month, was (K)Abiezer of Anathoth, a Benjaminite; in his division were 24,000. 13 Tenth, for the tenth month, was (L)Maharai of Netophah, of the Zerahites; in his division were 24,000. 14 Eleventh, for the eleventh month, was (M)Benaiah of Pirathon, of the sons of Ephraim; in his division were 24,000. 15 Twelfth, for the twelfth month, was (N)Heldai the Netophathite, of (O)Othniel; in his division were 24,000.
Leaders of Tribes
16 Over the tribes of Israel, for the Reubenites, Eliezer the son of Zichri was chief officer; for the Simeonites, Shephatiah the son of Maacah; 17 for Levi, (P)Hashabiah the son of Kemuel; for Aaron, (Q)Zadok; 18 for Judah, Elihu, one of David's brothers; for Issachar, Omri the son of Michael; 19 for Zebulun, Ishmaiah the son of Obadiah; for Naphtali, Jeremoth the son of Azriel; 20 for the Ephraimites, Hoshea the son of Azaziah; for the half-tribe of Manasseh, Joel the son of Pedaiah; 21 for the half-tribe of Manasseh in Gilead, Iddo the son of Zechariah; for Benjamin, Jaasiel the son of Abner; 22 for Dan, Azarel the son of Jeroham. These were the (R)leaders of the tribes of Israel. 23 David did not count those below twenty years of age, for the (S)Lord had promised to make Israel as many as the stars of heaven. 24 Joab the son of Zeruiah began to count, but (T)did not finish. Yet (U)wrath came upon Israel for this, and the number was not entered in the chronicles of King David.
25 Over the king's treasuries was (V)Azmaveth the son of Adiel; and over the treasuries in the country, in the cities, in the villages, and in the towers, was Jonathan the son of Uzziah; 26 and over those who did the work of the field for tilling the soil was Ezri the son of Chelub; 27 and over the vineyards was Shimei the Ramathite; and over the produce of the vineyards for the wine cellars was Zabdi the Shiphmite. 28 Over the olive and (W)sycamore trees in the Shephelah was Baal-hanan the Gederite; and over the stores of oil was Joash. 29 Over the herds that pastured in (X)Sharon was Shitrai the Sharonite; over the herds in the valleys was Shaphat the son of Adlai. 30 Over the camels was Obil the Ishmaelite; and over the donkeys was Jehdeiah the Meronothite. 31 Over the flocks was Jaziz the (Y)Hagrite. All these were stewards of King David's property.
32 Jonathan, David's uncle, was a counselor, being a man of understanding and a scribe. He and Jehiel the son of Hachmoni attended the king's sons. 33 (Z)Ahithophel was the (AA)king's counselor, and Hushai the Archite was the king's friend. 34 Ahithophel was succeeded by Jehoiada the son of (AB)Benaiah, and (AC)Abiathar. Joab was (AD)commander of the king's army.

27 Y los hijos de Israel según su número, que eran cabezas paternas, capitanes de mil y de cien, y sus oficiales de los que servían al rey en todos los negocios de las cuadrillas que entraban y salían cada mes en todos los meses del año, cada cuadrilla era de veinticuatro mil.
2 Sobre la primera cuadrilla del primer mes estaba Jasobeam hijo de Zabdiel; y había en su cuadrilla veinticuatro mil.
3 De los hijos de Fares fue el principal sobre todos los capitanes del ejército del primer mes.
4 Sobre la cuadrilla del segundo mes estaba Dodai, el ahohíta; y en su cuadrilla estaba el príncipe Miclot; en la cual había veinticuatro mil.
5 El tercer capitán del tercer ejército para el tercer mes era Benaía, hijo de Joiada sacerdote principal; y en su cuadrilla había veinticuatro mil.
6 Este Benaía era valiente entre los treinta y sobre los treinta; y en su cuadrilla estaba Amisabad su hijo.
7 El cuarto del cuarto mes era Asael hermano de Joab, y después de él Zebadías su hijo; y en su cuadrilla había veinticuatro mil.
8 El quinto capitán del quinto mes era el príncipe Samhut, el izraíta; y en su cuadrilla había veinticuatro mil.
9 El sexto del sexto mes era Hira hijo de Iques, de Tecoa; y en su cuadrilla había veinticuatro mil.
10 El séptimo del séptimo mes era Heles, el Pelonita, de los hijos de Efraín; y en su cuadrilla había veinticuatro mil.
11 El octavo del octavo mes era Sibecai, el husatita, de Zarahi; y en su cuadrilla había veinticuatro mil.
12 El noveno del noveno mes era Abiezer, el anatotita, de los benjamitas; y en su cuadrilla había veinticuatro mil.
13 El décimo del décimo mes era Maharai, el netofatita, de Zarahi; y en su cuadrilla había veinticuatro mil.

15 El duodécimo del duodécimo mes era Heldai, el netofatita, de Otoniel; y en su división había veinticuatro mil.
16 ¶ Asimismo presidían sobre las tribus de Israel: sobre los rubenitas el príncipe Eliezer hijo de Zicri; sobre los simeonitas, Sefatías, hijo de Maaca.
17 Sobre los levitas, Hasabías hijo de Kemuel. Sobre los aaronitas, Sadoc.
18 Sobre Judá, Eliú, uno de los hermanos de David. Sobre los de Isacar, Omri hijo de Micael.
19 Sobre los de Zabulón, Ismaías hijo de Abdías. Sobre los de Neftalí, Jerimot hijo de Azriel.

23 Y no tomó David el número de los que eran de veinte años abajo, por cuanto el SEÑOR había dicho que él había de multiplicar a Israel como las estrellas del cielo.
24 Joab hijo de Sarvia había comenzado a contar, mas no acabó, y por esto vino la ira sobre Israel; y así el número no fue puesto en el registro de las crónicas del rey David.
25 ¶ Y Azmavet hijo de Adiel tenía a su cargo los tesoros del rey; y los tesoros de los campos, de las ciudades, de las aldeas y castillos, Jonatán hijo de Uzías;
26 y de los que trabajaban en la labranza de las tierras en los campos, Ezri hijo de Quelub;
27 y a cargo de las viñas Simei, el ramatita; y del incremento de las viñas, para las bodegas, Zabdi, el sifmita;
28 y de los olivares e higuerales que había en las campiñas, Baal-hanán, el gederita; y de los almacenes del aceite, Joás;
29 de las vacas que pastaban en Sarón, Sitrai, el saronita; y de las vacas que estaban en los valles, Safat hijo de Adlai;
30 y de los camellos, Obil, el ismaelita; y de las asnas, Jehedías, el meronotita;
31 y de las ovejas, Jaziz, el agareno. Todos éstos eran príncipes de la hacienda del rey David.
32 Y Jonatán, tío de David, era el consejero, varón entendido y escriba; y Jehiel hijo de Hacmoni tenía a su cargo los hijos del rey.
33 Ahitofel era consejero del rey; y Husai, el arquita era amigo del rey.
34 Después de Ahitofel era Joiada hijo de Benaía, y Abiatar. Y Joab era el general del ejército del rey.
