28 Everything that was dedicated by Samuel the seer, as well as by Saul, Kish’s son; Abner, Ner’s son; and Joab, Zeruiah’s son—in fact, anything that had been dedicated—was under the supervision of Shelomoth[a] and his relatives.

29 From the Izharites: Chenaniah and his family had responsibilities over Israel outside the temple as officials and judges. 30 From the Hebronites: Hashabiah and his relatives, 1,700 capable men, were put in charge of Israel west of the Jordan concerning all of the Lord’s affairs and the king’s service.

Los tesoreros

20-28 Otros hombres de la tribu de Leví cuidaban los tesoros del templo y las ofrendas especiales que el profeta Samuel, el rey Saúl, el oficial Abner y el oficial Joab habían dado para Dios. Entre esas ofrendas también estaba parte del botín de guerra que el rey David, los jefes de las tribus, y todos los jefes del ejército habían entregado para los gastos del templo de Dios.

Entre estos vigilantes había descendientes de Guersón hijo de Moisés, y descendientes de Amram, Zetam y Joel. Unos eran hijos de Jehiel y nietos de Ladán; otros eran hijos de Ishar, Hebrón y Uziel, descendientes de Amram. Otros eran descendientes de Eliézer, el hermano de Guersón, entre los cuales estaban Rehabías, Isaías, Joram, Zicrí y Selomit.

Como jefe de todos estos tesoreros nombraron a Sebuel, descendiente de Guersón.

Otros trabajos fuera del templo

29 Quenanías y sus hijos fueron los líderes y jueces encargados de los asuntos del gobierno, y no trabajaban en el templo. Ellos eran descendientes de Ishar.

30 Hasabías, que era descendiente de Hebrón, tenía un total de mil setecientos parientes. Todos eran hombres muy valientes, que estaban encargados de todos los asuntos religiosos y políticos de los israelitas que vivían al oeste del Jordán.

28 And all that Samuel the seer, and Saul the son of Kish, and Abner the son of Ner, and Joab the son of Zeruiah, had dedicated; and whosoever had dedicated any thing, it was under the hand of Shelomith, and of his brethren.

29 Of the Izharites, Chenaniah and his sons were for the outward business over Israel, for officers and judges.

30 And of the Hebronites, Hashabiah and his brethren, men of valour, a thousand and seven hundred, were officers among them of Israel on this side Jordan westward in all the business of the Lord, and in the service of the king.
