David Organizes the Musicians

25 David and the chiefs of the service also set apart for the service the sons of ^(A)Asaph, and of ^(B)Heman, and of ^(C)Jeduthun, who ^(D)prophesied with lyres, with ^(E)harps, and with cymbals. The list of those who did the work and of their duties was:

³³ These are the men who served and their sons. Of the sons of the Kohathites: Heman the singer the son of Joel, son of ^(A)Samuel,

¹⁵ But now ^(A)bring me a musician.” And when the musician played, ^(B)the hand of the Lord came upon him.

³⁹ and his brother ^(A)Asaph, who stood on his right hand, namely, Asaph the son of Berechiah, son of Shimea,

⁵ After that you shall come to ^(A)Gibeath-elohim,^{[a] (B)}where there is a garrison of the Philistines. And there, as soon as you come to the city, you will meet a group of prophets coming down ^(C)from the high place with harp, tambourine, flute, and lyre before them, prophesying.

² And I saw ^(A)what appeared to be a sea of glass mingled with fire—and also those ^(B)who had conquered the beast and its image and ^(C)the number of its name, standing beside the sea of glass ^(D)with harps of God in their hands. ³ And they sing ^(E)the song of Moses, ^(F)the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying,

Dedication of the Wall

²⁷ And at ^(A)the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought the Levites in all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem to celebrate the dedication with gladness, with thanksgivings and with singing, ^(B)with cymbals, harps, and lyres.

²⁴ But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or outsider enters, he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all, ^25 (A)the secrets of his heart are disclosed, and so, ^(B)falling on his face, he will worship God and ^(C)declare that God is really among you.

Orderly Worship

²⁶ What then, brothers? When you come together, each one has ^(D)a hymn, ^(E)a lesson, ^(F)a revelation, ^(G)a tongue, or ^(H)an interpretation. ^(I)Let all things be done for building up.
