2 And David commanded to gather together the strangers that were in the land of Israel, and he made them masons to hew wrought stones to build the house of God.
3 Likewise, David prepared iron in abundance for the nails for the doors of the gates, and for the joinings, and brass in abundance without weight,
4 also cedar trees in abundance, for the Zidonians and those of Tyre brought much cedar wood to David.

Preparations for the Temple
2 So David gave orders to assemble the foreigners(A) residing in Israel, and from among them he appointed stonecutters(B) to prepare dressed stone for building the house of God. 3 He provided a large amount of iron to make nails for the doors of the gateways and for the fittings, and more bronze than could be weighed.(C) 4 He also provided more cedar logs(D) than could be counted, for the Sidonians and Tyrians had brought large numbers of them to David.

2 David commanded to gather together the (A)resident aliens who were in the land of Israel, and he (B)set stonecutters to prepare dressed stones for building the house of God. 3 David also provided great quantities of iron for nails for the doors of the gates and for clamps, (C)as well as bronze in quantities beyond weighing, 4 and cedar timbers without number, (D)for the Sidonians and Tyrians brought great quantities of cedar to David.
