Genealogy: Twelve Sons of Israel (Jacob)
2 (A)These were the sons of Israel: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, 2 Dan, Joseph, Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.
3 (B)The sons of Judah were Er, Onan, and Shelah; these three were born to him by Bath-shua the Canaanitess. But Er, Judah’s firstborn, was evil in the sight of the Lord, so He put him to death. 4 (C)His daughter-in-law Tamar bore him Perez and Zerah. Judah had five sons in all.
5 The sons of Perez were Hezron and Hamul. 6 The sons of Zerah were [a]Zimri, Ethan, Heman, Calcol, and [b]Dara; five of them in all. 7 The [c]son of Carmi was [d](D)Achar, the one who brought disaster on Israel [e]by violating the [f]ban. 8 The [g]son of Ethan was Azariah.

9 Now the sons of Hezron who were born to him were Jerahmeel, Ram, and Chelubai. 10 Ram fathered Amminadab, and Amminadab fathered Nahshon, leader of the sons of Judah; 11 Nahshon fathered Salma, Salma fathered Boaz, 12 Boaz fathered Obed, and Obed fathered Jesse; 13 and Jesse fathered Eliab his firstborn, then Abinadab, the second, [h]Shimea, the third, 14 Nethanel, the fourth, Raddai, the fifth, 15 Ozem, the sixth, and David, the seventh. 16 Their sisters were Zeruiah and Abigail. And the three sons of Zeruiah were [i]Abshai, Joab, and Asahel. 17 Abigail gave birth to Amasa, and the father of Amasa was [j]Jether the Ishmaelite.
18 Now Caleb the son of Hezron had sons by Azubah his wife, and by Jerioth; and these were her sons: Jesher, Shobab, and Ardon. 19 When Azubah died, Caleb married Ephrath, who bore to him Hur. 20 Hur fathered Uri, and Uri fathered Bezalel.
21 Later, Hezron had relations with the daughter of Machir the father of Gilead, whom he married when he was sixty years old; and she bore to him Segub. 22 Segub fathered Jair, who had twenty-three cities in the land of Gilead. 23 But Geshur and Aram took [k]the villages of Jair from them, with Kenath and its villages, sixty settlements. All of these were the sons of Machir, the father of Gilead. 24 After the death of Hezron in Caleb-ephrathah, Abijah, Hezron’s wife, bore to him Ashhur the father of Tekoa.
25 Now the sons of Jerahmeel, the firstborn of Hezron, were Ram the firstborn, then Bunah, Oren, Ozem, and Ahijah. 26 Jerahmeel had another wife, whose name was Atarah; she was the mother of Onam. 27 The sons of Ram, the firstborn of Jerahmeel, were Maaz, Jamin, and Eker. 28 The sons of Onam were Shammai and Jada. And the sons of Shammai were Nadab and Abishur. 29 The name of Abishur’s wife was Abihail, and she bore to him Ahban and Molid. 30 The sons of Nadab were Seled and Appaim, and Seled died without sons. 31 The [l]son of Appaim was Ishi. And the [m]son of Ishi was Sheshan, and the [n]son of Sheshan, Ahlai. 32 The sons of Jada the brother of Shammai were Jether and Jonathan, and Jether died without sons. 33 The sons of Jonathan were Peleth and Zaza. These were the [o]descendants of Jerahmeel. 34 Now Sheshan had no sons, only daughters. Sheshan also had an Egyptian servant, whose name was Jarha. 35 Sheshan gave his daughter to his servant Jarha in marriage, and she bore to him Attai. 36 Attai fathered Nathan, Nathan fathered Zabad, 37 Zabad fathered Ephlal, Ephlal fathered Obed, 38 Obed fathered Jehu, Jehu fathered Azariah, 39 Azariah fathered Helez, Helez fathered Eleasah, 40 Eleasah fathered Sismai, Sismai fathered Shallum, 41 Shallum fathered Jekamiah, and Jekamiah fathered Elishama.
42 Now the sons of Caleb, the brother of Jerahmeel, were Mesha his firstborn, who was the father of Ziph; and [p]his son was Mareshah, the father of Hebron. 43 The sons of Hebron were Korah, Tappuah, Rekem, and Shema. 44 Shema fathered Raham, the father of Jorkeam; and Rekem fathered Shammai. 45 The son of Shammai was Maon, and Maon was the father of Bethzur. 46 Ephah, Caleb’s concubine, gave birth to Haran, Moza, and Gazez; and Haran fathered Gazez. 47 The sons of Jahdai were Regem, Jotham, Geshan, Pelet, Ephah, and Shaaph. 48 Maacah, Caleb’s concubine, gave birth to Sheber and Tirhanah. 49 She also gave birth to Shaaph the father of Madmannah, Sheva the father of Machbena and the father of Gibea; and the daughter of Caleb was Achsah. 50 These were the sons of Caleb.
The [q]sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephrathah, were Shobal the father of Kiriath-jearim, 51 Salma the father of Bethlehem, and Hareph the father of Beth-gader. 52 Shobal the father of Kiriath-jearim had sons: Haroeh, half of the Manahathites, 53 and the families of Kiriath-jearim: the Ithrites, the Puthites, the Shumathites, and the Mishraites; from these came the Zorathites and the Eshtaolites. 54 The sons of Salma were Bethlehem and the Netophathites, Atroth-beth-joab, and half of the Manahathites, the Zorites. 55 The families of scribes who lived at Jabez were the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, and the Sucathites. Those are the Kenites who came from Hammath, the father of the house of Rechab.

3 Judas sønner var Er og Onan og Sela; disse tre fikk han med Suas datter, kana'anittinnen; men Er, Judas førstefødte, mishaget Herren, og han lot ham dø.
4 Og hans sønnekone Tamar fødte ham Peres og Serah, så at Judas sønner i alt var fem.
5 Peres' sønner var Hesron og Hamul.
6 Og Serahs sønner var Simri[a] og Etan og Heman og Kalkol og Dara, tilsammen fem.
7 Og Karmis[b] sønn var Akar[c], som førte Israel i ulykke, fordi han bar sig troløst at med det bannlyste gods.
8 Og Etans sønn var Asarja.
9 Og de sønner som Hesron fikk, var Jerahme'el og Ram og Kelubai[d].
10 Og Ram fikk sønnen Amminadab, og Amminadab fikk sønnen Nahson, høvding for Judas barn,
11 og Nahson fikk sønnen Salma, og Salma fikk sønnen Boas,
12 og Boas fikk sønnen Obed, og Obed fikk sønnen Isai.
13 Og Isai fikk Eliab, som var hans førstefødte sønn, og Abinadab, hans annen sønn, og Simea, den tredje,
14 Netanel, den fjerde, Raddai, den femte,
15 Osem, den sjette, David, den syvende.
16 Og deres søstre var Seruja og Abiga'il. Og Serujas sønner var Absai og Joab og Asael, tre i tallet.
17 Og Abiga'il fødte Amasa, og Amasas far var ismaelitten Jeter.
18 Og Kaleb, Hesrons sønn, fikk barn med sin hustru Asuba og med Jeriot; og dette var hennes[e] sønner: Jeser og Sobab og Ardon.
19 Da Asuba døde, tok Kaleb Efrat til hustru, og med henne fikk han sønnen Hur,
20 og Hur fikk sønnen Uri, og Uri fikk sønnen Besalel.
21 Siden giftet Hesron sig med en datter av Gileads far Makir; han tok henne til hustru da han var seksti år gammel, og fikk med henne sønnen Segub.
22 Og Segub fikk sønnen Ja'ir; han hadde tre og tyve byer i Gileads land.
23 Men gesurittene og arameerne tok Ja'irs byer fra dem og likeså Kenat med tilhørende landsbyer - i alt seksti byer. Alle disse[f] var sønner av[g] Gileads far Makir.
24 Og efterat Hesron var død i Kaleb-Efrata, fødte hans hustru Abia ham Ashur, Tekoas[h] far.
25 Og sønnene til Jerahme'el, Hesrons førstefødte, var Ram, hans førstefødte, og Buna og Oren og Osem; dem hadde han med Akia.
26 Jerahme'el hadde også en annen hustru, som hette Atara; hun var mor til Onam.
27 Og sønnene til Ram, Jerahme'els førstefødte, var Ma'as og Jamin og Eker.
28 Og Onams sønner var Sammai og Jada. Og Sammais sønner var Nadab og Abisur.
29 Abisurs hustru hette Abiha'il, og med henne fikk han Akban og Molid.
30 Og Nadabs sønner var Seled og Appa'im; Seled døde uten sønner.
31 Og Appa'ims sønn var Jisi; og Jisis sønn var Sesan; og Sesans barn[i] var Aklai.
32 Og sønnene til Sammais bror Jada var Jeter og Jonatan. Jeter døde uten sønner.
33 Og Jonatans sønner var Pelet og Sasa. Dette var Jerahme'els sønner.
34 Sesan hadde ingen sønner, bare døtre. Men Sesan hadde en egyptisk tjener, som hette Jarha,
35 og han lot sin tjener Jarha få sin datter til hustru, og med henne fikk han sønnen Attai.
36 Og Attai fikk sønnen Natan, og Natan fikk sønnen Sabad,
37 og Sabad fikk sønnen Eflal, og Eflal fikk sønnen Obed,
38 og Obed fikk sønnen Jehu, og Jehu fikk sønnen Asarja,
39 og Asarja fikk sønnen Hales, og Hales fikk sønnen Elasa,
40 og Elasa fikk sønnen Sismai, og Sismai fikk sønnen Sallum,
41 og Sallum fikk sønnen Jekamja, og Jekamja fikk sønnen Elisama.
42 Og sønnene til Jerahme'els bror Kaleb var Mesa hans førstefødte - han var far til Sif - og sønnene til Hebrons far Maresa.
43 Og Hebrons sønner var Korah og Tappuah og Rekem og Sema.
44 Og Sema fikk sønnen Raham, far til Jorkeam, og Rekem fikk sønnen Sammai.
45 Og Sammais sønn var Maon, og Maon var far til Betsur.
46 Og Kalebs medhustru Efa fødte Haran og Mosa og Gases; og Haran fikk sønnen Gases.
47 Og Jehdais sønner var Regem og Jotam og Gesan og Pelet og Efa og Sa'af.
48 Kalebs medhustru Ma'aka fødte Seber og Tirhana;
49 hun fødte også Sa'af, far til Madmanna, og Seva, far til Makbena og Gibea; og Kalebs datter var Aksa.
50 Dette var Kalebs sønner: Sobal, sønn til Efratas førstefødte sønn Hur og far til Kirjat-Jearim,
51 Salma, far til Betlehem, Haref, far til Betgader.
52 Og sønnene til Kirjat-Jearims far Sobal var Haroe[j] og halvdelen av Hammenuhot-ætten.
53 Og Kirjat-Jearims ætter var jitrittene og putittene og sumatittene og misra'ittene; fra dem stammer soratittene og estaolittene.
54 Salmas sønner var Betlehem og netofatittene, Atrot-Bet-Joab og halvdelen av manahtittene, sorittene.
55 Og de skriftlærdes ætter, deres som bodde i Jabes, var tiratittene, simatittene, sukatittene; dette er de kinnitter som nedstammer fra Hammat, far til Rekabs hus.
