David Established at Jerusalem(A)
14 Now (B)Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, with masons and carpenters, to build him a house. 2 So David knew that the Lord had established him as king over Israel, for his kingdom was (C)highly exalted for the sake of His people Israel.
3 Then David took more wives in Jerusalem, and David begot more sons and daughters. 4 And (D)these are the names of his children whom he had in Jerusalem: [a]Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon, 5 Ibhar, [b]Elishua, [c]Elpelet, 6 Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia, 7 Elishama, [d]Beeliada, and Eliphelet.
The Philistines Defeated(E)
8 Now when the Philistines heard that (F)David had been anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to search for David. And David heard of it and went out against them. 9 Then the Philistines went and made a raid (G)on the Valley of [e]Rephaim. 10 And David (H)inquired of God, saying, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will You deliver them into my hand?”
The Lord said to him, “Go up, for I will deliver them into your hand.”
11 So they went up to Baal Perazim, and David defeated them there. Then David said, “God has broken through my enemies by my hand like a breakthrough of water.” Therefore they called the name of that place [f]Baal Perazim. 12 And when they left their gods there, David gave a commandment, and they were burned with fire.
13 (I)Then the Philistines once again made a raid on the valley. 14 Therefore David inquired again of God, and God said to him, “You shall not go up after them; circle around them, (J)and come upon them in front of the mulberry trees. 15 And it shall be, when you hear a sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, then you shall go out to battle, for God has gone out before you to strike the camp of the Philistines.” 16 So David did as God commanded him, and they drove back the army of the Philistines from [g]Gibeon as far as Gezer. 17 Then (K)the fame of David went out into all lands, and the Lord (L)brought the fear of him upon all nations.

Davids familj
14 Hiram, kungen i Tyrus, skickade sändebud till David med cederträ och med murare och timmermän, för att de skulle bygga ett hus åt honom. 2 David förstod att Herren hade befäst honom som kung över Israel, ty han hade låtit hans rike bli upphöjt för sitt folk Israels skull.
3 David tog sig ännu fler hustrur i Jerusalem, och David blev far till ännu fler söner och döttrar. 4 Dessa är namnen på de söner han fick i Jerusalem: Sammua, Sobab, Natan, Salomo, 5 Jibhar, Elisua, Elpelet, 6 Noga, Nefeg, Jafia, 7 Elisama, Beeljada och Elifelet.
Seger över filisteerna
8 När filisteerna hörde att David hade blivit smord till kung över hela Israel, drog de alla upp för att söka efter David. När David hörde detta, drog han ut mot dem. 9 Filisteerna kom och ryckte in i Refaimdalen. 10 David frågade då Gud: "Skall jag dra upp mot filisteerna? Skall du då ge dem i min hand?" Herren svarade honom: "Drag upp. Jag skall ge dem i din hand."
11 De drog upp till Baal-Perasim, och där besegrade David dem. David sade: "Gud har brutit ner[a] mina fiender genom min hand, så som vatten bryter fram." Därav fick platsen namnet Baal-Perasim. 12 De lämnade där sina gudar, och David befallde att dessa skulle brännas upp i eld.
13 Men filisteerna ryckte än en gång in i dalen. 14 När David på nytt frågade Gud, svarade Gud honom: "Du skall inte dra dit upp efter dem. Gå runt dem och kom över dem från det håll där bakaträden står. 15 Så snart du hör ljudet av steg i bakaträdens toppar, då skall du dra ut till strid, ty då har Gud dragit ut framför dig för att slå filisteernas här." 16 David gjorde som Gud hade befallt honom. De slog filisteernas här och förföljde dem från Gibeon ända till Gezer. 17 Och ryktet om David gick ut i alla länder, och Herren lät fruktan för honom komma över alla folk.

14 泰爾王希蘭差遣使者帶著香柏木、木匠和石匠去為大衛建造宮殿。 2 那時，大衛知道耶和華已立他做以色列的王，並因自己以色列子民的緣故而使他國家興旺。
3 大衛在耶路撒冷又娶了多位妻子，生了許多兒女。 4 他在耶路撒冷所生的孩子有沙姆亞、朔罷、拿單、所羅門、 5 益轄、以利書亞、以法列、 6 挪迦、尼斐、雅非亞、 7 以利沙瑪、比利雅大和以利法列。
打敗非利士人
8 非利士人聽說大衛已被膏立為以色列王，就全軍出動搜尋大衛。大衛得知後，便出來迎敵。 9 非利士人前來襲擊利乏音谷。 10 大衛就求問上帝說：「我可以去迎戰非利士人嗎？你會把他們交在我手裡嗎？」耶和華說：「去吧，我必把他們交在你手裡。」
11 於是，大衛前往巴力·毗拉心，擊敗了非利士人。他說：「上帝藉我的手擊潰敵人，如洪水沖垮堤岸。」所以，那地方叫巴力·毗拉心[a]。 12 非利士人在那裡丟棄了他們的神像，大衛命人把它們燒掉。 13 非利士人又來襲擊那山谷， 14 大衛又求問上帝，上帝對他說：「你不要正面出擊，要繞到他們後面，從桑林對面攻打他們。 15 當你聽見桑樹梢上響起腳步聲時，就要進攻，因為那表示耶和華已在你前頭去攻擊非利士的軍隊了。」 16 大衛遵命而行，打敗非利士人，從基遍一直殺到基色。 17 於是，大衛名揚列國，耶和華使列國都懼怕他。
