37 From the other side of the Jordan, from Reuben, Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, there were 120,000 men armed with all kinds of weapons.
38 All these men were warriors who were ready to march.[a] They came to Hebron to make David king over all Israel by acclamation;[b] all the rest of the Israelites also were in agreement that David should become king.[c] 39 They spent three days feasting[d] there with David, for their relatives had given them provisions.

37 and from east of the Jordan, from Reuben, Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh, armed with every type of weapon—120,000.
38 All these were fighting men who volunteered to serve in the ranks. They came to Hebron fully determined to make David king over all Israel.(A) All the rest of the Israelites were also of one mind to make David king. 39 The men spent three days there with David, eating and drinking,(B) for their families had supplied provisions for them.
