Første Krønikebog 11

11 Derpå samlede hele Israel sig hos David i Hebron og sagde: "Vi er jo dit Kød og Blod!" 2 Allerede før i Tiden, medens Saul var Konge, var det dig, som førte Israel ud i Kamp og hjem igen; og Herren din Gud sagde til dig: Du skal vogte mit Folk Israel og være Hersker over mit Folk Israel!" 3 Og alle Israels Ældste kom til Kongen i Hebron, og David sluttede i Hebron Pagt med dem for HerrRNs Åsyn, og de salvede David til Konge over Israel efter Herrens Ord ved Samuel.

4 Derpå drog David med hele Israel til Jerusalem, det er Jebus; der boede Jebusiterne, Landets oprindelige Indbyggere; 5 og Indbyggerne i Jebus sagde til David: "Her kan du ikke trænge ind!" Men David indtog Klippeborgen Zion, det er Davidsbyen. 6 Og David sagde: "Den, der først slår en Jebusit, skal være Øverste og Hærfører!" Og da Joab, Zentjas Søn, var den første, der steg derop, blev han Øverste. 7 Så tog David Bolig i Klippeborgen, hvorfor man kaldte den Davidsbyen; 8 og han befæstede Byen hele Vejen rundt fra Millo af; Resten af Byen genopførte Joab. 9 Og David blev mægtigere og mægtigere; Hærskarers Herre var med ham.

10 Følgende var de ypperste at Davids Helte, som sammen med hele Israel kraftig stod ham bi med at nå Kongedømmet, så de fik ham valgt til Konge efter Herrens Ord til Israel. 11 Navnene på Davids Helte var følgende: Isjba'al, Hakmonis Søn, Anføreren for de tre; det var ham, som engang svang sit Spyd over 300 faldne på een Gang. 12 Blandt de tre Helte kom efter ham Ahohiten El'azar, Dodos Søn; 13 han var med David ved PasDammim, dengang Filisterne samlede sig der til Kamp. Marken var fuld af Byg, og Folkene flygtedefor Filisterne; 14 men han stillede sig op midt på Marken og holdt den og huggede Filisterne ned; og Herren gav dem en stor Sejr.

15 Engang drog tre af de tredive ned til David på Klippen, til Adullams Hule, medens Filisternes Hær var lejret i Refaimdalen. 16 David var dengang i Hlippeborgen, medens Filisternes Foged var i Betlehem. 17 Så vågnede Lysten hos David, og han sagde: "Hvem skaffer mig en Drik Vand fra Cisternen ved Betlehems Port?" 18 Da banede de tre Helte sig Vej gennem Filisternes Lejr, øste Vand af Cisternen ved Betlehems Port og bragte David det. Han vilde dog ikke drikke det, men udgød det for Herren 19 med de Ord: "Gud vogte mig for at gøre det! Skulde jeg drikke de Mænds blod, som har vovet deres Liv? Thi med Fare for deres Liv har de hentet det!" Og han vilde ikke drikke det. Den Dåd udførte de tre Helte.

20 Abisjaj, Joabs Broder, var Anfører for de tredive. Han svang sit Spyd over de faldne, og han var navnkundig blandt de tredive; 21 iblandt de tredive var han højt æret, og han var deres Anfører; men de tre nåede han ikke.

22 Benaja, Jojadas Søn, var en tapper Mand fra Kabze'el, der havde udført store Heltegeminger; han fældede de to Arielsønner fra Moab; og han steg ned og fældede en Løve i en Cisterne, en Dag den var faldet Sne. 23 Ligeledes fældede han Ægypteren, en kæmpestor Mand, fem Alen høj. Ægypteren havde et Spyd som en Væverbom i Hånden, men han gik ned imod ham med en Stok, vristede Spydet ud af Hånden på ham og dræbte ham med hans eget Spyd. 24 Disse Heltegerninger udførte Benaja, Jojadas Søn, og han var navnkundig iblandt de tredive Helte; 25 iblandt de tredive var han højt æret, men de tre nåede han ikke. David satte ham over sin Livvagt.

26 De tapre Helte var: Asa'el, Joabs Broder; Elhanan, Dodos Søn, fra Betlehem; 27 Haroriten Sjammot; Peloniten Helez; 28 Ira, Ikkesj's Søn, fra Tekoa; Abiezer fra Anatot; 29 Husjatiten Sibbekaj; Ahohiten Ilaj; 30 Maharaj fra Netofa; Heled, Ba'anas Søn, fra Netofa; 31 Itaj, Ribajs Søn, fra det benjaminitiske Gibea; Benaja fra Pir'aton; 32 Huraj fra Nahale-Ga'asj; Abiel fra Araba; 33 Azmavet fra Bahurim.; Sja'alboniten Eljaba; 34 Guniten Jasjen; Harariten Jonatan, Sjammas, Søn; 35 Harariten Ahi'am, Sakars Søn; Elifal, Urs Søn; 36 Mekeratiten Hefer; Peloniten Ahija; 37 Hezro fra Karmel; Na'araj, Ezbajs Søn; 38 Joel, Natans Broder; Mibhar, Hagritens Søn; 39 Ammoniten Zelek; Naharaj fra Berot, der var Joabs, Zerujas Søns, Våbendrager; 40 Ira fra Jattir; Gareb fra Jattir; 41 Hetiten Urias; Zabad, Alajs Søn; 42 Rubeniten Adina, Sjizas Søn, et af Rubeniternes Overhoveder over tredive; 43 Hanan, Ma'akas Søn; Mitniten Josjafat; 44 Uzzija fra Asjtarot; Sjama og Je'uel, Aroeriten Hotams Sønner; 45 Jediael, Sjimris Søn, og hans Broder Tiziten Joha; 46 Mahaviten Eliel; Jeribaj og Josjavja, Elna'ams Sønner; Moabiten Jitma; 47 Eliel, Obed og Ja'asiel fra Zoba.

Davi é ungido rei

11 Então, todo o Israel se ajuntou a Davi em Hebrom, dizendo: Eis que somos teus ossos e tua carne. 2 E também já dantes, sendo Saul ainda rei, eras tu o que fazias sair e entrar a Israel; também o Senhor, teu Deus, te disse: Tu apascentarás o meu povo de Israel e tu serás chefe sobre o meu povo de Israel. 3 Também vieram todos os anciãos de Israel ao rei, a Hebrom, e Davi fez com eles aliança em Hebrom, perante o Senhor; e ungiram Davi rei sobre Israel, conforme a palavra do Senhor pelo ministério de Samuel.

4 E partiu Davi e todo o Israel para Jerusalém, que é Jebus, porque ali estavam os jebuseus, moradores da terra. 5 E disseram os moradores de Jebus a Davi: Tu não entrarás aqui. Porém Davi ganhou a fortaleza de Sião, que é a Cidade de Davi. 6 Porque disse Davi: Qualquer que primeiro ferir os jebuseus será chefe e maioral. Então, Joabe, filho de Zeruia, subiu primeiro a ela, pelo que foi feito chefe. 7 E Davi habitou na fortaleza, pelo que se chamou a Cidade de Davi. 8 E edificou a cidade ao redor, desde Milo até completar o circuito; e Joabe renovou o resto da cidade. 9 E ia Davi cada vez mais aumentando e crescendo, porque o Senhor dos Exércitos era com ele.

Os valentes de Davi

10 E estes foram os chefes dos heróis que Davi tinha e que o apoiaram fortemente no seu reino, com todo o Israel, para o fazerem rei, conforme a palavra do Senhor, no tocante a Israel. 11 E estes foram do número dos heróis que Davi tinha: Jasobeão, hacmonita, o principal dos capitães, o qual, brandindo a sua lança contra trezentos, de uma vez os matou. 12 E, depois dele, Eleazar, filho de Dodô, o aoíta; ele estava entre os três varões. 13 Este esteve com Davi em Pas-Damim, quando os filisteus ali se ajuntaram à peleja, e o pedaço de campo estava cheio de cevada, e o povo fugiu de diante dos filisteus. 14 E puseram-se no meio daquele pedaço, e o defenderam, e feriram os filisteus; e promoveu o Senhor um grande livramento.

15 E três dos trinta chefes desceram à penha, a Davi, na caverna de Adulão; e o arraial dos filisteus estava acampado no vale dos Refains. 16 E Davi estava, então, no lugar forte, e o alojamento dos filisteus estava, então, em Belém. 17 E desejou Davi e disse: Quem me dará a beber da água do poço de Belém, que está junto à porta? 18 Então, aqueles três romperam pelo arraial dos filisteus e tiraram água do poço de Belém que estava à porta; e tomaram dela e a trouxeram a Davi, porém Davi não a quis beber, mas a derramou perante o Senhor. 19 E disse: Nunca meu Deus permita que faça tal! Beberia eu o sangue destes varões com as suas vidas? Pois, com perigo das suas vidas, a trouxeram. E ele não a quis beber. Isto fizeram aqueles três valentes.

20 E também Abisai, irmão de Joabe, foi chefe de três, o qual, brandindo a sua lança contra trezentos, os feriu; e teve nome entre os três. 21 Dos três foi mais ilustre do que os outros dois, pelo que foi chefe deles; porém não chegou aos primeiros três.

22 Também Benaia, filho de Joiada, filho de um valente varão, grande em obras, de Cabzeel; ele feriu dois fortes leões de Moabe; e também desceu e feriu um leão dentro de uma cova, no tempo da neve. 23 Também feriu ele a um homem egípcio, homem de grande altura, de cinco côvados; e trazia o egípcio uma lança na mão, como o eixo do tecelão; mas desceu contra ele com uma vara, e arrancou a lança da mão do egípcio, e o matou com a sua própria lança. 24 Estas coisas fez Benaia, filho de Joiada, pelo que teve nome entre aqueles três varões. 25 Eis que dos trinta foi ele o mais ilustre; contudo, não chegou aos três; e Davi o pôs sobre os da sua guarda.

26 E foram os heróis dos exércitos: Asael, irmão de Joabe, Elanã, filho de Dodô, de Belém; 27 Samote, o harodita; Heles, o pelonita; 28 Ira, filho de Iques, o tecoíta; Abiezer, o anatotita; 29 Sibecai, o husatita; Ilai, o aoíta; 30 Maarai, o netofatita; Helede, filho de Baaná, o netofatita; 31 Itai, filho de Ribai, de Gibeá, dos filhos de Benjamim; Benaia, o piratonita; 32 Hurai, do ribeiro de Gaás; Abiel, o arbatita; 33 Azmavete, o baarumita; Eliaba, o saalbonita. 34 Dos filhos de Hasém, o gizonita: Jônatas, filho de Sage, o hararita; 35 Aião, filho de Sacar, o hararita; Elifal, filho de Ur; 36 Héfer, o mequeratita; Aías, o pelonita; 37 Hezro, o carmelita; Naarai, filho de Ezbai; 38 Joel, irmão de Natã; Mibar, filho de Hagri; 39 Zeleque, o amonita; Naarai, o berotita, escudeiro de Joabe, filho de Zeruia; 40 Ira, o itrita; Garebe, o itrita; 41 Urias, o heteu; Zabade, filho de Alai; 42 Adina, filho de Siza, o rubenita, chefe dos rubenitas; todavia, sobre ele havia trinta; 43 Hanã, filho de Maaca; e Josafá, o mitenita; 44 Uzias, o astaratita; Sama e Jeiel, filhos de Hotão, o aroerita; 45 Jediael, filho de Sinri; e Joá, seu irmão, o tizita; 46 Eliel, o maavita; Jeribai e Josavias, filhos de Elnaão; e Itma, o moabita, 47 Eliel, e Obede, e Jaasiel, o mezobaíta.

David Made King over All Israel(A)

11 Then (B)all Israel came together to David at Hebron, saying, “Indeed we are your bone and your flesh. 2 Also, in time past, even when Saul was king, you were the one who led Israel out and brought them in; and the Lord your (C)God said to you, ‘You shall (D)shepherd My people Israel, and be ruler over My people Israel.’ ” 3 Therefore all the elders of Israel came to the king at Hebron, and David made a covenant with them at Hebron before the Lord. And (E)they anointed David king over Israel, according to the word of the Lord [a]by (F)Samuel.

The City of David(G)

4 And David and all Israel (H)went to Jerusalem, which is Jebus, (I)where the Jebusites were, the inhabitants of the land. 5 But the inhabitants of Jebus said to David, “You shall not come in here!” Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion (that is, the City of David). 6 Now David said, “Whoever attacks the Jebusites first shall be [b]chief and captain.” And Joab the son of Zeruiah went up first, and became chief. 7 Then David dwelt in the stronghold; therefore they called it [c]the City of David. 8 And he built the city around it, from [d]the Millo to the surrounding area. Joab [e]repaired the rest of the city. 9 So David (J)went on and became great, and the Lord of hosts was with (K)him.

The Mighty Men of David(L)

10 Now (M)these were the heads of the mighty men whom David had, who strengthened themselves with him in his kingdom, with all Israel, to make him king, according to (N)the word of the Lord concerning Israel.

11 And this is the number of the mighty men whom David had: (O)Jashobeam the son of a Hachmonite, (P)chief of [f]the captains; he had lifted up his spear against three hundred, killed by him at one time.

12 After him was Eleazar the son of (Q)Dodo, the Ahohite, who was one of the three mighty men. 13 He was with David at [g]Pasdammim. Now there the Philistines were gathered for battle, and there was a piece of ground full of barley. So the people fled from the Philistines. 14 But they [h]stationed themselves in the middle of that field, defended it, and killed the Philistines. So the Lord brought about a great victory.

15 Now three of the thirty chief men (R)went down to the rock to David, into the cave of Adullam; and the army of the Philistines encamped (S)in the Valley of [i]Rephaim. 16 David was then in the stronghold, and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Bethlehem. 17 And David said with longing, “Oh, that someone would give me a drink of water from the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!” 18 So the three broke through the camp of the Philistines, drew water from the well of Bethlehem that was by the gate, and took it and brought it to David. Nevertheless David would not drink it, but poured it out to the Lord. 19 And he said, “Far be it from me, O my God, that I should do this! Shall I drink the blood of these men who have put their lives in jeopardy? For at the risk of their lives they brought it.” Therefore he would not drink it. These things were done by the three mighty men.

20 (T)Abishai the brother of Joab was chief of another [j]three. He had lifted up his spear against three hundred men, killed them, and won a name among these three. 21 (U)Of the three he was more honored than the other two men. Therefore he became their captain. However he did not attain to the first three.

22 Benaiah was the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man from Kabzeel, who [k]had done many deeds. (V)He had killed two lion-like heroes of Moab. He also had gone down and killed a lion in the midst of a pit on a snowy day. 23 And he killed an Egyptian, a man of great height, [l]five cubits tall. In the Egyptian’s hand there was a spear like a weaver’s beam; and he went down to him with a staff, wrested the spear out of the Egyptian’s hand, and killed him with his own spear. 24 These things Benaiah the son of Jehoiada did, and won a name among three mighty men. 25 Indeed he was more honored than the thirty, but he did not attain to the first three. And David appointed him over his guard.

26 Also the mighty warriors were (W)Asahel the brother of Joab, Elhanan the son of Dodo of Bethlehem, 27 [m]Shammoth the Harorite, (X)Helez the [n]Pelonite, 28 (Y)Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite, (Z)Abiezer the Anathothite, 29 [o]Sibbechai the Hushathite, [p]Ilai the Ahohite, 30 (AA)Maharai the Netophathite, [q]Heled the son of Baanah the Netophathite, 31 [r]Ithai the son of Ribai of Gibeah, of the sons of Benjamin, (AB)Benaiah the Pirathonite, 32 [s]Hurai of the brooks of Gaash, [t]Abiel the Arbathite, 33 Azmaveth the [u]Baharumite, Eliahba the Shaalbonite, 34 the sons of [v]Hashem the Gizonite, Jonathan the son of Shageh the Hararite, 35 Ahiam the son of [w]Sacar the Hararite, [x]Eliphal the son of [y]Ur, 36 Hepher the Mecherathite, Ahijah the Pelonite, 37 [z]Hezro the Carmelite, [aa]Naarai the son of Ezbai, 38 Joel the brother of Nathan, Mibhar the son of Hagri, 39 Zelek the Ammonite, Naharai the [ab]Berothite (the armorbearer of Joab the son of Zeruiah), 40 Ira the Ithrite, Gareb the Ithrite, 41 (AC)Uriah the Hittite, [ac]Zabad the son of Ahlai, 42 Adina the son of Shiza the Reubenite (a chief of the Reubenites) and thirty with him, 43 Hanan the son of Maachah, Joshaphat the Mithnite, 44 Uzzia the Ashterathite, Shama and Jeiel the sons of Hotham the Aroerite, 45 Jediael the son of Shimri, and Joha his brother, the Tizite, 46 Eliel the Mahavite, Jeribai and Joshaviah the sons of Elnaam, Ithmah the Moabite, 47 Eliel, Obed, and Jaasiel the Mezobaite.
