²³ So they and their sons were in charge of the gates of the house of the Lord, that is, the house of the tent, as guards.

¹⁴ Yet I will appoint them to keep ^(A)charge of the temple, ^(B)to do all its service and all that is to be done in it.

¹⁰ But ^(A)the Levites who went far from me, going astray from me after their idols ^(B)when Israel went astray, ^(C)shall bear their punishment.^{[a] 11} They shall be ^(D)ministers in my sanctuary, having oversight ^(E)at the gates of the temple and ministering in the temple. They shall slaughter the burnt offering and the sacrifice for the people, and ^(F)they shall stand before the people, to minister to them.

⁴⁵ And they performed the service of their God and the service of purification, as did the singers and the gatekeepers, ^(A)according to the command of David and his son Solomon.

¹⁹ He stationed ^(A)the gatekeepers at the gates of the house of the Lord so that no one should enter who was in any way unclean.

³² Thus ^(A)they were to keep charge of the tent of meeting and the sanctuary, and to attend the sons of Aaron, their brothers, for the ^(B)service of the house of the Lord.
