³⁹ Heshbon with its pasturelands, Jazer with its pasturelands—four towns in all.

²² And you gave them kingdoms and peoples and allotted to them every corner,^[a] so they took possession of the land of King Sihon of Heshbon and the land of King Og of Bashan.^(A)

²⁵ Their territory was Jazer, and all the towns of Gilead, and half the land of the Ammonites, to Aroer, which is near Rabbah,^{(A) 26} and from Heshbon to Ramath-mizpeh and Betonim, and from Mahanaim to the territory of Debir,^[a]

²⁴ ‘Proceed on your journey and cross the Wadi Arnon. See, I have handed over to you King Sihon the Amorite of Heshbon, and his land. Begin to take possession by engaging him in battle.^(A)

³⁷ And the Reubenites rebuilt Heshbon, Elealeh, Kiriathaim,

32 Now the Reubenites and the Gadites owned a very great number of cattle. When they saw that the land of Jazer and the land of Gilead was a good place for cattle,^(A)

³² Moses sent to spy out Jazer, and they captured its villages and dispossessed the Amorites who were there.^(A)

²⁵ Israel took all these towns, and Israel settled in all the towns of the Amorites, in Heshbon, and in all its villages.
