⁶⁰ And from the tribe of Benjamin: Geba with its common-lands, ^[a]Alemeth with its common-lands, and Anathoth with its common-lands. All their cities among their families were thirteen.

Jeremiah Called to Be a Priest

1 The words of Jeremiah the son of Hilkiah, of the priests who were ^(A)in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin,

¹² that Jeremiah went out of Jerusalem to go into the land of Benjamin to claim his property there among the people.

²³ and there shall be no remnant of them, for I will bring catastrophe on the men of Anathoth, even ^(A)the year of their punishment.’ ”

⁶ These are the sons of Ehud, who were the heads of the fathers’ houses of the inhabitants of ^(A)Geba, and who forced them to move to ^(B)Manahath:

²⁶ And to Abiathar the priest the king said, “Go to ^(A)Anathoth, to your own fields, for ^[a]you are deserving of death; but I will not put you to death at this time, ^(B)because you carried the ark of the Lord God before my father David, and because you were afflicted every time my father was afflicted.”

³ And Jonathan attacked ^(A)the garrison of the Philistines that was in ^(B)Geba, and the Philistines heard of it. Then Saul blew the trumpet throughout all the land, saying, “Let the Hebrews hear!”

¹⁷ and from the tribe of Benjamin, ^(A)Gibeon with its common-land, ^(B)Geba with its common-land, ¹⁸ Anathoth with its common-land, and ^(C)Almon with its common-land: four cities.

²⁴ Chephar Haammoni, Ophni, and Gaba: twelve cities with their villages;
