⁴³ And they defeated ^(A)the remnant of the Amalekites who had escaped, and they have lived there to this day.

¹⁷ And David struck them down from twilight until the evening of the next day, and not a man of them escaped, except four hundred young men, who mounted camels and fled.

¹² from Edom, ^(A)Moab, ^(B)the Ammonites, ^(C)the Philistines, ^(D)Amalek, and from the spoil of Hadadezer the son of Rehob, king of ^(E)Zobah.

^7 (A)And Saul defeated the Amalekites from ^(B)Havilah as far as ^(C)Shur, which is east of Egypt. ⁸ And he took Agag the king of the Amalekites alive ^(D)and devoted to destruction all the people with the edge of the sword.

¹⁵ So they took the money and did as they were directed. And this story has been spread among the Jews ^(A)to this day.

⁸ Therefore ^(A)that field has been called the Field of Blood ^(B)to this day.

^6 (A)Therefore my wrath and my anger were poured out and kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, ^(B)and they became a waste and a desolation, as at this day.

⁹ And the poles were so long that the ends of the poles were seen ^(A)from the Holy Place before the inner sanctuary, but they could not be seen from outside. And they are^[a] there to this day.

²⁶ And the man went to ^(A)the land of the Hittites and built a city and called its name Luz. That is its name to this day.

⁶ and he buried him in the valley in the land of Moab opposite Beth-peor; but ^(A)no one knows the place of his burial to this day.
