²³ Then Ornan said to David, “Take it, and let my lord the king do what seems good to him. See, I give the oxen for burnt offerings and the threshing sledges for the wood and the wheat for a grain offering; I give it all.”

²² Then Araunah said to David, “Let my lord the king take and offer up what seems good to him. Here are the oxen for the burnt offering and the ^(A)threshing sledges and the yokes of the oxen for the wood. ²³ All this, O king, Araunah gives to the king.” And Araunah said to the king, “May the Lord your God ^(B)accept you.”

¹⁴ The cart came into the field of Joshua of Beth-shemesh and stopped there. ^(A)A great stone was there. And they split up the wood of the cart and offered the cows as a burnt offering to the Lord.

^4 (A)“I am a sojourner and foreigner among you; ^(B)give me property among you for a burying place, that I may bury my dead out of my sight.” ⁵ The Hittites answered Abraham, ⁶ “Hear us, my lord; you are a prince of God^[a] among us. Bury your dead in the choicest of our tombs. None of us will withhold from you his tomb to hinder you from burying your dead.”

⁸ Then Hanamel my cousin came to me in ^(A)the court of the guard, in accordance with the word of the Lord, and said to me, ‘Buy my field that is at ^(B)Anathoth in the land of Benjamin, for the right of possession and redemption is yours; buy it for yourself.’ Then I knew that this was the word of the Lord.

²¹ And he returned from following him and took the yoke of oxen and sacrificed them and boiled their flesh ^(A)with the yokes of the oxen and gave it to the people, and they ate. Then he arose and went after Elijah and assisted him.
