¹⁵ And God sent ^[a]an ^(A)angel to Jerusalem to destroy it. As ^[b]he was destroying, the Lord looked and ^(B)relented of the disaster, and said to the angel who was destroying, “It is enough; now restrain ^[c]your hand.” And the angel of the Lord stood by the ^(C)threshing floor of ^[d]Ornan the Jebusite.

⁶ And ^(A)the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and ^(B)He was grieved in His ^(C)heart.

¹⁴ So the Lord ^(A)relented from the harm which He said He would do to His people.

⁴¹ Then He came the third time and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? It is enough! ^(A)The hour has come; behold, the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners.

Jesus Laments over Jerusalem^(A)

^37 (B)“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets ^(C)and stones those who are sent to her! How often ^(D)I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks ^(E)under her wings, but you were not willing! ³⁸ See! Your house is left to you desolate;

^18 (A)“Micah of Moresheth prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and spoke to all the people of Judah, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts:

⁷ The instant I speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom, to ^(A)pluck up, to pull down, and to destroy it, ^8 (B)if that nation against whom I have spoken turns from its evil, ^(C)I will relent of the disaster that I thought to bring upon it. ⁹ And the instant I speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it, ¹⁰ if it does evil in My sight so that it does not obey My voice, then I will relent concerning the good with which I said I would benefit it.

¹² “But go now to ^(A)My place which was in Shiloh, ^(B)where I set My name at the first, and see ^(C)what I did to it because of the wickedness of My people Israel.
