²⁴ After Hezron died in Caleb Ephrathah, Hezron’s wife Abijah bore him ^(A)Ashhur the father of Tekoa.

⁵ And ^(A)Ashhur the father of Tekoa had two wives, Helah and Naarah.

The Family of Hezron

¹⁸ Caleb the son of Hezron had children by Azubah, his wife, and by Jerioth. Now these were her sons: Jesher, Shobab, and Ardon. ¹⁹ When Azubah died, Caleb ^[a]took ^(A)Ephrath^[b] as his wife, who bore him Hur.

⁹ Also the sons of Hezron who were born to him were Jerahmeel, ^[a]Ram, and ^[b]Chelubai.

² And Joab sent to ^(A)Tekoa and brought from there a wise woman, and said to her, “Please pretend to be a mourner, ^(B)and put on mourning apparel; do not anoint yourself with oil, but act like a woman who has been mourning a long time for the dead.
