²⁷ Splendor and majesty are before him;
    strength and joy are in his dwelling place.

⁷ The Lord is my strength^(A) and my shield;
    my heart trusts^(B) in him, and he helps me.
My heart leaps for joy,^(C)
    and with my song I praise him.^(D)

⁸ The Lord is the strength^(E) of his people,
    a fortress of salvation^(F) for his anointed one.^(G)

¹¹ You make known to me the path of life;^(A)
    you will fill me with joy in your presence,^(B)
    with eternal pleasures^(C) at your right hand.^(D)

² I have seen you in the sanctuary^(A)
    and beheld your power and your glory.^(B)
3 Because your love is better than life,^(C)
    my lips will glorify you.

You have set your glory^(B)
    in the heavens.^(C)

⁴ One thing^(A) I ask from the Lord,
    this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
    all the days of my life,^(B)
to gaze on the beauty of the Lord
    and to seek him in his temple.
⁵ For in the day of trouble^(C)
    he will keep me safe^(D) in his dwelling;
he will hide me^(E) in the shelter of his sacred tent
    and set me high upon a rock.^(F)

⁶ Then my head will be exalted^(G)
    above the enemies who surround me;^(H)
at his sacred tent I will sacrifice^(I) with shouts of joy;^(J)
    I will sing^(K) and make music^(L) to the Lord.
