³ But ^(A)God came to Abimelech ^(B)in a dream by night, and said to him, ^(C)“Indeed you are a dead man because of the woman whom you have taken, for she is ^[a]a man’s wife.”

¹⁷ But the Lord ^(A)plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai, Abram’s wife.

¹⁵ Go to Pharaoh in the morning, when he goes out to the ^(A)water, and you shall stand by the river’s bank to meet him; and ^(B)the rod which was turned to a serpent you shall take in your hand. ¹⁶ And you shall say to him, ^(C)‘The Lord God of the Hebrews has sent me to you, saying, “Let My people go, ^(D)that they may ^[a]serve Me in the wilderness”; but indeed, until now you would not hear! ¹⁷ Thus says the Lord: “By this ^(E)you shall know that I am the Lord. Behold, I will strike the waters which are in the river with the rod that is in my hand, and ^(F)they shall be turned ^(G)to blood. ¹⁸ And the fish that are in the river shall die, the river shall stink, and the Egyptians will ^(H)loathe^[b] to drink the water of the river.” ’ ”

The Seventh Plague: Hail

¹³ Then the Lord said to Moses, ^(A)“Rise early in the morning and stand before Pharaoh, and say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord God of the Hebrews: “Let My people go, that they may ^(B)serve Me, ¹⁴ for at this time I will send all My plagues to your very heart, and on your servants and on your people, ^(C)that you may know that there is none like Me in all the earth. ¹⁵ Now if I had ^(D)stretched out My hand and struck you and your people with ^(E)pestilence, then you would have been cut off from the earth. ¹⁶ But indeed for ^(F)this purpose I have raised you up, that I may ^(G)show My power in you, and that My ^(H)name may be declared in all the earth. ¹⁷ As yet you exalt yourself against My people in that you will not let them go. ¹⁸ Behold, tomorrow about this time I will cause very heavy hail to rain down, such as has not been in Egypt since its founding until now.

^42 (A)Unless the God of my father, the God of Abraham and ^(B)the Fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely now you would have sent me away empty-handed. ^(C)God has seen my affliction and the labor of my hands, and ^(D)rebuked you last night.”

²⁹ It is in my power to do you harm, but the ^(A)God of your father spoke to me ^(B)last night, saying, ‘Be careful that you speak to Jacob neither good nor bad.’

²⁴ But God ^(A)had come to Laban the Syrian in a dream by night, and said to him, “Be careful that you ^(B)speak to Jacob neither good nor bad.”
