² And when David had finished offering the burnt offerings and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord

⁷ It is beyond dispute that the inferior is blessed by the superior.

The Ascension

⁵⁰ And ^(A)he led them out as far as ^(B)Bethany, and lifting up his hands he blessed them. ⁵¹ While he blessed them, ^(C)he parted from them and was carried up into heaven.

²⁷ Then ^(A)the priests and the Levites arose and ^(B)blessed the people, and their voice was heard, and their prayer came to ^(C)his holy habitation in heaven.

¹⁸ For a majority of the people, ^(A)many of them from Ephraim, Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, yet they ate the Passover otherwise ^(B)than as prescribed. For Hezekiah had prayed for them, saying, “May the good Lord pardon everyone ^19 (C)who sets his heart to seek God, the Lord, the God of his fathers, even though not according to the sanctuary's rules of cleanness.”^{[a] 20} And the Lord heard Hezekiah and healed the people.

²⁹ When the offering was finished, ^(A)the king and all who were present with him bowed themselves and worshiped.

⁵⁵ And he stood and ^(A)blessed all the assembly of Israel with a loud voice, saying, ⁵⁶ “Blessed be the Lord who has given rest to his people Israel, according to all that he promised. ^(B)Not one word has failed of all his good promise, which he spoke by Moses his servant.

¹⁸ And when David had finished offering the burnt offerings and the peace offerings, ^(A)he blessed the people in the name of the Lord of hosts

⁶ So Joshua ^(A)blessed them and sent them away, and they went to their tents.

²³ “Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, Thus ^(A)you shall bless the people of Israel: you shall say to them,
