¹¹ Also God said to him: ^(A)“I am God Almighty. ^(B)Be fruitful and multiply; ^(C)a nation and a company of nations shall proceed from you, and kings shall come from your body. ¹² The ^(D)land which I gave Abraham and Isaac I give to you; and to your descendants after you I give this land.”

²⁰ Now may ^(A)the God of peace ^(B)who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, ^(C)that great Shepherd of the sheep, ^(D)through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

² “Hear the words of this covenant, and speak to the men of Judah and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem;

¹¹ Then ^(A)you went over the Jordan and came to Jericho. And ^(B)the men of Jericho fought against you—also the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Girgashites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites. But I delivered them into your hand. ^12 (C)I sent the hornet before you which drove them out from before you, also the two kings of the Amorites, but ^(D)not with your sword or with your bow. ¹³ I have given you a land for which you did not labor, and ^(E)cities which you did not build, and you dwell in them; you eat of the vineyards and olive groves which you did not plant.’

¹⁷ and I have said ^(A)I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt to the land of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites, to a land flowing with milk and honey.” ’
