²³ Berechiah and Elkanah were to be gatekeepers for the ark.

^21 (A)Zechariah the son of Meshelemiah was gatekeeper at the entrance of the tent of meeting. ²² All these, who were chosen as gatekeepers at the thresholds, were 212. They were enrolled by genealogies in their villages. ^(B)David and Samuel ^(C)the seer established them in their office of trust. ²³ So they and their sons were in charge of the gates of the house of the Lord, that is, the house of the tent, as guards.

^18 (A)And the captain of the guard took ^(B)Seraiah the chief priest and ^(C)Zephaniah the second priest and the three keepers of the threshold;

⁴ “Go up to ^(A)Hilkiah the high priest, that he may count the money ^(B)that has been brought into the house of the Lord, which ^(C)the keepers of the threshold have collected from the people.
