¹⁷ for Levi, Hashabiah son of Kemuel; for Aaron, Zadok;

²⁰ And Phinehas son of Eleazar was chief over them in former times; the Lord was with him.^(A)

⁴⁹ But Aaron and his sons made offerings on the altar of burnt offering and on the altar of incense, doing all the work of the most holy place, to make atonement for Israel, according to all that Moses the servant of God had commanded.^{(A) 50} These are the sons of Aaron: Eleazar his son, Phinehas his son, Abishua his son,^{(B) 51} Bukki his son, Uzzi his son, Zerahiah his son, ⁵² Meraioth his son, Amariah his son, Ahitub his son, ⁵³ Zadok his son, Ahimaaz his son.

Settlements of the Levites

⁵⁴ These are their dwelling places according to their settlements within their territories: to the sons of Aaron of the families of Kohathites—for the lot fell to them first^(C)— ⁵⁵ to them they gave Hebron in the land of Judah and its surrounding pasturelands,^{(D) 56} but the fields of the city and its villages they gave to Caleb son of Jephunneh.^{(E) 57} To the sons of Aaron they gave the cities of refuge: Hebron, Libnah with its pasturelands, Jattir, Eshtemoa with its pasturelands,^(F)

¹⁸ The captain of the guard took the chief priest Seraiah, the second priest Zephaniah, and the three guardians of the threshold;^(A)

⁹ The captains did according to all that the priest Jehoiada commanded; each brought his men who were to go off duty on the Sabbath, with those who were to come on duty on the Sabbath, and came to the priest Jehoiada.^(A)

⁴ But in the seventh year Jehoiada summoned the captains of the Carites and of the guards and had them come to him in the house of the Lord. He made a covenant with them and put them under oath in the house of the Lord; then he showed them the king’s son.^(A)
