3 Правильно говорится: похвально, когда человек стремится быть руководителем в общине верующих. 2 Но руководителем должен быть человек, которого не за что осудить: муж одной жены[a], воздержанный, благоразумный, порядочный, гостеприимный, хороший учитель, 3 не склонный к пьянству, не драчун, но мягкий в обращении с людьми, не задиристый и не имеющий любви к деньгам. 4 Он должен хорошо управлять своей семьёй, иметь послушных и уважающих его детей. 5 Ведь если кто-либо не может справиться со своей семьёй, то как он сможет заботиться об общине верующих, принадлежащей Аллаху? 6 Руководителя не следует выбирать из новообращённых: такой человек может возгордиться, и тогда он будет осуждён так же, как был осуждён и Иблис. 7 О нём должны хорошо отзываться неверующие, чтобы ему не вызвать упрёков и не попасть в ловушку Иблиса.

8 То же самое касается и помощников руководителей. Они должны быть уважаемыми людьми, искренними, не пристрастными к вину и бескорыстными. 9 Они должны с чистой совестью придерживаться открытых ныне тайн веры. 10 Вначале этих людей следует проверить, и если против них не будет найдено ничего порочащего, они могут выполнять служение помощников.

11 Их жёны тоже должны быть достойными уважения, не заниматься сплетнями, быть воздержанными и пользоваться во всём доверием.

12 Помощник руководителя должен быть мужем одной жены, хорошо управлять своими детьми и домочадцами. 13 Потому что те, кто хорошо выполняет своё служение, приобретают себе достойное положение и могут с большой уверенностью говорить о своей вере в Ису Масиха.

14 Я надеюсь скоро прийти к тебе, но пишу тебе это для того, 15 чтобы, если я и задержусь, ты знал, как следует вести себя в доме Аллаха. Этот дом – святой народ верующих, принадлежащий живому Богу, опора и утверждение истины. 16 Тайна нашей веры несомненно велика:

Он[b] был явлен в теле,
    был оправдан Духом,
Его видели ангелы,
    о Нём было возвещено среди народов,
Его приняли верой в мире,
    Он был вознесён в славе.

Qualifications for Overseers and Deacons

3 Here is a trustworthy saying:(A) Whoever aspires to be an overseer(B) desires a noble task. 2 Now the overseer is to be above reproach,(C) faithful to his wife,(D) temperate,(E) self-controlled, respectable, hospitable,(F) able to teach,(G) 3 not given to drunkenness,(H) not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome,(I) not a lover of money.(J) 4 He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him, and he must do so in a manner worthy of full[a] respect.(K) 5 (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?)(L) 6 He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited(M) and fall under the same judgment(N) as the devil. 7 He must also have a good reputation with outsiders,(O) so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil’s trap.(P)

8 In the same way, deacons[b](Q) are to be worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine,(R) and not pursuing dishonest gain. 9 They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience.(S) 10 They must first be tested;(T) and then if there is nothing against them, let them serve as deacons.

11 In the same way, the women[c] are to be worthy of respect, not malicious talkers(U) but temperate(V) and trustworthy in everything.

12 A deacon must be faithful to his wife(W) and must manage his children and his household well.(X) 13 Those who have served well gain an excellent standing and great assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus.

Reasons for Paul’s Instructions

14 Although I hope to come to you soon, I am writing you these instructions so that, 15 if I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God’s household, which is the church(Y) of the living God,(Z) the pillar and foundation of the truth. 16 Beyond all question, the mystery(AA) from which true godliness(AB) springs is great:

He appeared in the flesh,(AC)
    was vindicated by the Spirit,[d]
was seen by angels,
    was preached among the nations,(AD)
was believed on in the world,
    was taken up in glory.(AE)

3 Tapat ang pasabi, Kung ang sinoman ay magsisikap na maging obispo, ay mabuting gawa ang ninanasa.

2 Dapat nga na ang obispo ay walang kapintasan, asawa ng isa lamang babae, mapagpigil, mahinahon ang pagiisip, mahusay, mapagpatuloy, sapat na makapagturo;

3 Hindi magulo, hindi palaaway, kundi malumanay, hindi mapakipagtalo, hindi maibigin sa salapi;

4 Namamahalang mabuti ng kaniyang sariling sangbahayan, na sinusupil ang kaniyang mga anak na may buong kahusayan;

5 (Nguni't kung ang sinoman nga ay hindi marunong mamahala sa kaniyang sariling sangbahayan paanong makapamamahala sa iglesia ng Dios?)

6 Hindi baguhan, baka siya kung magpalalo ay mahulog sa kaparusahan ng diablo.

7 Bukod dito'y dapat din namang siya'y magkaroon ng mabuting patotoo ng nangasa labas, baka mahulog sa kapintasan at silo ng diablo.

8 Gayon din naman ang mga diakono dapat ay mahuhusay, hindi dalawang dila, hindi mahilig sa maraming alak, hindi mga sakim sa mahahalay na kapakinabangan;

9 Na iniingatan ang hiwaga ng pananampalataya ng malinis na budhi.

10 At ang mga ito rin naman ay subukin muna; kung magkagayo'y mamahalang may pagka diakono, kung walang kapintasan.

11 Gayon din naman ang mga babae dapat ay mahuhusay, hindi palabintangin, mapagpigil, tapat sa lahat ng mga bagay.

12 Maging asawa ang mga diakono ng tigiisa lamang na babae, na pamahalaang mabuti ang kanilang mga anak at ang kanilang sariling mga sangbahayan.

13 Sapagka't ang nangamamahalang mabuti sa pagka diakono, ay nangagtatamo sa kanilang sarili ng isang mabuting kalagayan, at malaking katapangan sa pananampalataya na kay Cristo Jesus.

14 Ang mga bagay na ito ay aking isinusulat sa iyo, na inaasahang makararating sa iyong madali;

15 Nguni't kung ako'y magluwat ng mahabang panahon, ay upang maalaman mo kung paano ang dapat sa mga tao na ugaliin nila sa bahay ng Dios, na siyang iglesia ng Dios na buhay, at haligi at suhay ng katotohanan.

16 At walang pagtatalo, dakila ang hiwaga ng kabanalan; Yaong nahayag sa laman, Pinapaging-banal sa espiritu, Nakita ng mga anghel, Ipinangaral sa mga bansa, Sinampalatayanan sa sanglibutan, Tinanggap sa itaas sa kaluwalhatian.

3 This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.

2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;

4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;

5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)

6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.

7 Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

8 Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;

9 Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.

10 And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.

11 Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.

12 Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.

13 For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.

14 These things write I unto thee, hoping to come unto thee shortly:

15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
