22 И Давуд сказал:
– Здесь будет дом Вечного Бога и жертвенник для всесожжений Исраила.
Подготовка к строительству храма
2 Давуд приказал собрать всех живущих в Исраиле чужеземцев и назначил из них каменотёсов, чтобы они тесали камень для строительства храма Всевышнего. 3 Он заготовил много железа, чтобы делать гвозди для дверей в воротах и скобы, и бронзы больше, чем можно было взвесить. 4 Ещё он заготовил столько кедровых брёвен, что их невозможно было пересчитать, ведь сидоняне и тиряне поставили их Давуду в избытке. 5 Давуд сказал:
– Мой сын Сулейман ещё молод и неопытен, а дом, который следует построить Вечному, должен быть великолепен, славен и знаменит во всех землях. Поэтому я приготовлю для него всё необходимое.
И до своей смерти Давуд успел заготовить для храма много строительного материала. 6 Он призвал своего сына Сулеймана и повелел ему построить дом для Вечного, Бога Исраила. 7 Давуд сказал Сулейману:
– Сын, я думал построить дом для поклонения Вечному, моему Богу, 8 но ко мне было слово Вечного: «Ты пролил много крови и вёл большие войны. Ты не построишь дом для поклонения Мне, потому что ты пролил предо Мной на землю много крови. 9 Но у тебя родится сын, который будет мирным человеком, и Я дам ему покой от всех окружающих его врагов. Поэтому его будут звать Сулейман («мир»), и в дни его царствования Я дам Исраилу мир и спокойствие. 10 Он и построит дом для поклонения Мне. Он будет Мне сыном, а Я буду ему Отцом. Я упрочу престол его царства над Исраилом навеки».
11 Итак, сын, пусть Вечный будет с тобой, чтобы тебе сопутствовал успех и ты построил дом Вечному, твоему Богу, как Он и говорил о тебе. 12 Пусть Вечный даст тебе разум и понимание, когда Он поставит тебя властвовать над Исраилом, чтобы тебе соблюдать Закон Вечного, твоего Бога. 13 Тебе будет сопутствовать успех, если ты будешь внимателен к тому, чтобы исполнять установления и законы, которые Вечный дал Мусе для Исраила. Будь твёрд и мужествен. Не бойся, не падай духом.
14 Я приложил много труда, заготовив для дома Вечного три тысячи шестьсот тонн золота и тридцать шесть тысяч тонн[a] серебра, а бронзы и железа больше, чем можно взвесить, а также дерево и камень. Ты же прибавь к этому ещё. 15 У тебя много мастеров: каменотёсов, каменщиков и плотников, а также людей, искусных в работе 16 с золотом и серебром, бронзой и железом, – ремесленников без счёта. Итак, начинай работу, и пусть Вечный будет с тобой.
17 Давуд велел всем старейшинам Исраила помогать его сыну Сулейману. 18 Он сказал им:
– Разве Вечный, ваш Бог, не с вами? Разве Он не даровал вам покой со всех сторон? Ведь Он отдал мне обитателей этой земли, и земля подвластна Вечному и Его народу. 19 Посвятите же свой разум и сердце тому, чтобы искать Вечного, вашего Бога; начните строить святилище Вечному Богу, чтобы вы могли внести сундук соглашения Вечного и все остальные священные предметы в храм, который будет выстроен для поклонения Вечному.

22 Then David said, “The house of the Lord God(A) is to be here, and also the altar of burnt offering for Israel.”
Preparations for the Temple
2 So David gave orders to assemble the foreigners(B) residing in Israel, and from among them he appointed stonecutters(C) to prepare dressed stone for building the house of God. 3 He provided a large amount of iron to make nails for the doors of the gateways and for the fittings, and more bronze than could be weighed.(D) 4 He also provided more cedar logs(E) than could be counted, for the Sidonians and Tyrians had brought large numbers of them to David.
5 David said, “My son Solomon is young(F) and inexperienced, and the house to be built for the Lord should be of great magnificence and fame and splendor(G) in the sight of all the nations. Therefore I will make preparations for it.” So David made extensive preparations before his death.
6 Then he called for his son Solomon and charged him to build(H) a house for the Lord, the God of Israel. 7 David said to Solomon: “My son, I had it in my heart(I) to build(J) a house for the Name(K) of the Lord my God. 8 But this word of the Lord came to me: ‘You have shed much blood and have fought many wars.(L) You are not to build a house for my Name,(M) because you have shed much blood on the earth in my sight. 9 But you will have a son who will be a man of peace(N) and rest,(O) and I will give him rest from all his enemies on every side. His name will be Solomon,[a](P) and I will grant Israel peace and quiet(Q) during his reign. 10 He is the one who will build a house for my Name.(R) He will be my son,(S) and I will be his father. And I will establish(T) the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.’(U)
11 “Now, my son, the Lord be with(V) you, and may you have success and build the house of the Lord your God, as he said you would. 12 May the Lord give you discretion and understanding(W) when he puts you in command over Israel, so that you may keep the law of the Lord your God. 13 Then you will have success(X) if you are careful to observe the decrees and laws(Y) that the Lord gave Moses for Israel. Be strong and courageous.(Z) Do not be afraid or discouraged.
14 “I have taken great pains to provide for the temple of the Lord a hundred thousand talents[b] of gold, a million talents[c] of silver, quantities of bronze and iron too great to be weighed, and wood and stone. And you may add to them.(AA) 15 You have many workers: stonecutters, masons and carpenters,(AB) as well as those skilled in every kind of work 16 in gold and silver, bronze and iron—craftsmen(AC) beyond number. Now begin the work, and the Lord be with you.”
17 Then David ordered(AD) all the leaders of Israel to help his son Solomon. 18 He said to them, “Is not the Lord your God with you? And has he not granted you rest(AE) on every side?(AF) For he has given the inhabitants of the land into my hands, and the land is subject to the Lord and to his people. 19 Now devote your heart and soul to seeking the Lord your God.(AG) Begin to build the sanctuary of the Lord God, so that you may bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord and the sacred articles belonging to God into the temple that will be built for the Name of the Lord.”

Preparativos para el templo
2 Después de eso, David mandó reunir a los extranjeros que había en la tierra de Israel, y escogió algunos de ellos como canteros, para que labraran piedras y edificaran la casa de Dios. 3 Preparó también mucho hierro para los clavos y las bisagras de las puertas, y mucho bronce y madera de cedro. 4 Y es que los sidonios y los tirios habían traído a David abundante madera de cedro. 5 Entonces dijo David:
«Salomón, mi hijo, es todavía un niño de tierna edad, pero la casa que debe edificarse al Señor tiene que ser una obra excelente, de gran renombre en todo lugar. Así que voy a prepararle todo lo necesario.»
Y antes de su muerte, David hizo abundantes preparativos.
6 Llamó entonces David a Salomón, su hijo, y le mandó edificar una casa para el Señor, el Dios de Israel. 7 Le dijo:
«Hijo mío, la intención de mi corazón era edificar un templo al nombre del Señor mi Dios. 8 Pero la palabra del Señor vino a mí, y me dijo: “Tú has derramado mucha sangre; has librado muchas batallas. Es tanta la sangre que has derramado en la tierra delante de mí, que no edificarás casa a mi nombre. 9 Pero te nacerá un hijo, el cual será un hombre de paz. Yo haré que esté en paz con todos los enemigos que lo rodean; por eso se llamará Salomón.[a] Durante su vida yo le daré a Israel paz y reposo. 10 Él edificará una casa para honrar mi nombre, y él será mi hijo, y yo seré su padre, y para siempre(A) afirmaré sobre Israel el trono de su reino.” 11 Así que, hijo mío, que el Señor esté contigo, y que seas prosperado y edifiques la casa del Señor tu Dios, como él lo ha dicho. 12 Que el Señor te dé entendimiento y prudencia, para que cuando gobiernes a Israel cumplas la ley del Señor tu Dios. 13 Si pones por obra los estatutos y decretos que el Señor le entregó a Moisés para Israel, serás prosperado. Esfuérzate y cobra ánimo; no temas ni desmayes.(B) 14 Toma en cuenta que yo, con grandes esfuerzos, he preparado para la casa del Señor tres mil trescientas toneladas de oro, treinta y tres mil toneladas de plata, y muchísimo bronce y hierro, porque en realidad es mucho. También he preparado madera y piedra, pero puedes añadir más. 15 Tú cuentas con muchos obreros, canteros, albañiles y carpinteros, y con gente experta en distintos trabajos. 16 La cantidad de oro, plata, bronce y hierro es incalculable. Así que levántate y pon manos a la obra, y que el Señor esté contigo.»
17 David mandó también a todos los jefes de Israel que ayudaran a su hijo. Les dijo:
18 «¿No es verdad que el Señor su Dios les ha dado a ustedes paz por todas partes? Él ha entregado en mis manos a los habitantes de la tierra, y la tierra ha sido sometida delante del Señor y de su pueblo. 19 Dispongan ahora su corazón y su ánimo a buscar al Señor su Dios. Levántense y edifiquen el santuario de Dios, el Señor, para trasladar a la casa edificada al nombre del Señor el arca del pacto y los utensilios consagrados a Dios.»

David Prepares for Temple Building
22 Then David said, “(A)This is the house of the Lord God, and this is the altar of burnt offering for Israel.”
2 So David [a]gave orders to gather (B)the strangers who were in the land of Israel, and (C)he set stonecutters to cut out stones to build the house of God. 3 And David (D)prepared large quantities of iron [b]to make the nails for the doors of the gates and for the clamps, and more (E)bronze than could be weighed; 4 and timbers of cedar beyond number, for (F)the Sidonians and Tyrians brought large quantities of cedar timber to David. 5 David said, “My son (G)Solomon is young and inexperienced, and the house that is to be built for the Lord shall be exceedingly magnificent, famous, and glorious throughout the lands. Therefore I now will make preparations for it.” So David made ample preparations before his death.
Solomon Commanded to Build the Temple
6 Then (H)he called for his son Solomon, and commanded him to build a house for the Lord God of Israel. 7 David said to Solomon, “(I)My son, [c]I had intended to build a house for the name of the Lord my God. 8 But the word of the Lord came to me, saying, ‘(J)You have shed much blood and have [d]waged great wars; you shall not build a house to My name, because you have shed so much blood on the earth before Me. 9 Behold, a son will be born to you, who shall be a man of rest, and (K)I will give him rest from all his enemies on every side; for (L)his name will be [e]Solomon, and I will give peace and quiet to Israel in his days. 10 (M)He shall build a house for My name, and he shall be My son and I will be his Father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.’ 11 Now, my son, (N)the Lord be with you that you may be successful, and build the house of the Lord your God just as He has spoken concerning you. 12 (O)Only the Lord give you discretion and understanding, and put you in charge of Israel, so that you may (P)keep the Law of the Lord your God. 13 (Q)Then you will prosper, if you are careful to [f]follow the statutes and the ordinances which the Lord commanded Moses concerning Israel. (R)Be strong and courageous, do not fear nor be dismayed. 14 Now behold, [g]with great pains I have prepared for the house of the Lord (S)a hundred thousand [h]talents of gold and a million talents of silver, and (T)bronze and iron beyond measure, for [i]they are in great quantity; I have also prepared timber and stone, and you may add to that. 15 Moreover there are many workmen with you, stonecutters, masons of stone, and carpenters; and all of them are skillful in every kind of work. 16 Of the gold, silver, bronze, and iron there is no limit. Arise and work, and may (U)the Lord be with you.”
17 (V)David also commanded all the leaders of Israel to help his son Solomon, saying, 18 “Is the Lord your God not with you? And (W)has He not given you rest on every side? For He has handed over to me the inhabitants of the land, and the land is subdued before the Lord and before His people. 19 Now (X)set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God; then arise, and build the sanctuary of the Lord God, (Y)so that you may bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord and the holy vessels of God into the house that is to be built (Z)for the name of the Lord.”

22 Then David said, This is the house of the Lord God, and this is the altar of the burnt offering for Israel.
2 And David commanded to gather together the strangers that were in the land of Israel; and he set masons to hew wrought stones to build the house of God.
3 And David prepared iron in abundance for the nails for the doors of the gates, and for the joinings; and brass in abundance without weight;
4 Also cedar trees in abundance: for the Zidonians and they of Tyre brought much cedar wood to David.
5 And David said, Solomon my son is young and tender, and the house that is to be builded for the Lord must be exceeding magnifical, of fame and of glory throughout all countries: I will therefore now make preparation for it. So David prepared abundantly before his death.
6 Then he called for Solomon his son, and charged him to build an house for the Lord God of Israel.
7 And David said to Solomon, My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build an house unto the name of the Lord my God:
8 But the word of the Lord came to me, saying, Thou hast shed blood abundantly, and hast made great wars: thou shalt not build an house unto my name, because thou hast shed much blood upon the earth in my sight.
9 Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days.
10 He shall build an house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever.
11 Now, my son, the Lord be with thee; and prosper thou, and build the house of the Lord thy God, as he hath said of thee.
12 Only the Lord give thee wisdom and understanding, and give thee charge concerning Israel, that thou mayest keep the law of the Lord thy God.
13 Then shalt thou prosper, if thou takest heed to fulfil the statutes and judgments which the Lord charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed.
14 Now, behold, in my trouble I have prepared for the house of the Lord an hundred thousand talents of gold, and a thousand thousand talents of silver; and of brass and iron without weight; for it is in abundance: timber also and stone have I prepared; and thou mayest add thereto.
15 Moreover there are workmen with thee in abundance, hewers and workers of stone and timber, and all manner of cunning men for every manner of work.
16 Of the gold, the silver, and the brass, and the iron, there is no number. Arise therefore, and be doing, and the Lord be with thee.
17 David also commanded all the princes of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying,
18 Is not the Lord your God with you? and hath he not given you rest on every side? for he hath given the inhabitants of the land into mine hand; and the land is subdued before the Lord, and before his people.
19 Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the Lord God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the Lord.
