(A)Your boasting is not good. (B)Do you not know that (C)a little [a]leaven leavens the whole lump of dough? Clean out the old leaven so that you may be a new lump, just as you are in fact unleavened. For Christ our (D)Passover also has been sacrificed. Therefore let’s celebrate the feast, (E)not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

I wrote to you in my letter (F)not to associate with sexually immoral people; 10 I did not at all mean with the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the greedy and swindlers, or with (G)idolaters, for then you would have to leave the world. 11 But [b]actually, I [c]wrote to you not to associate [d]with any so-called (H)brother if he is a sexually immoral person, or a greedy person, or (I)an idolater, or is verbally abusive, or habitually drunk, or a swindler—not even to eat with such a person. 12 For what business of mine is it to judge (J)outsiders? (K)Do you not judge those who are within the church? 13 But those who are outside, God [e]judges. (L)Remove the evil person from among yourselves.

Your boasting is not good.(A) Don’t you know that a little yeast(B) leavens the whole batch of dough?(C) Get rid of the old yeast, so that you may be a new unleavened batch—as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.(D) Therefore let us keep the Festival, not with the old bread leavened with malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread(E) of sincerity and truth.

I wrote to you in my letter not to associate(F) with sexually immoral people— 10 not at all meaning the people of this world(G) who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. 11 But now I am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister[a](H) but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater(I) or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people.(J)

12 What business is it of mine to judge those outside(K) the church? Are you not to judge those inside?(L) 13 God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked person from among you.”[b](M)
