1 Corinthians 1:26-31

²⁶For ^[a]consider your ^(A)calling, brethren, that there were ^(B)not many wise according to ^[b]the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble; ²⁷but ^(C)God has chosen the foolish things of ^(D)the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of ^(E)the world to shame the things which are strong, ²⁸and the base things of ^(F)the world and the despised God has chosen, ^(G)the things that are not, so that He may ^(H)nullify the things that are, ²⁹so that ^(I)no ^[c]man may boast before God. ³⁰But ^[d]by His doing you are in ^(J)Christ Jesus, who became to us ^(K)wisdom from God, ^[e]and ^(L)righteousness and ^(M)sanctification, and ^(N)redemption, ³¹so that, just as it is written, “^(O)Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord.”

²⁶Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called.^(A) Not many of you were wise^(B) by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. ²⁷But God chose^(C) the foolish^(D) things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. ²⁸God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not^(E)—to nullify the things that are, ²⁹so that no one may boast before him.^(F) ³⁰It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus,^(G) who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness,^(H) holiness^(I) and redemption.^(J) ³¹Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.”^[a]^(K)
