12 (A)Fight the good fight of (B)faith; (C)take hold of the eternal life (D)to which you were called, and for which you made the good (E)confession in the presence of (F)many witnesses. 13 (G)I direct you in the presence of God, who [a]gives life to all things, and of (H)Christ Jesus, who testified the (I)good confession (J)before Pontius Pilate, 14 that you keep the commandment without [b]fault or reproach until the (K)appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 which He will [c]bring about at (L)the proper time—He who is (M)the blessed and (N)only Sovereign, (O)the King of [d]kings and (P)Lord of [e]lords, 16 (Q)who alone possesses immortality and (R)dwells in unapproachable light, (S)whom [f]no one has seen or can see. (T)To Him be honor and eternal dominion! Amen.

17 Instruct those who are rich in (U)this present world (V)not to be conceited or to (W)set their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, (X)who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy. 18 Instruct them to do good, to be rich in (Y)good [g]works, (Z)to be generous and ready to share, 19 (AA)storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may (AB)take hold of that which is truly life.

20 (AC)Timothy, protect (AD)what has been entrusted to you, avoiding (AE)worldly, empty chatter and the opposing arguments of what is falsely called “knowledge”— 21 which some have professed and thereby have (AF)gone astray [h]from (AG)the faith.

(AH)Grace be with you.

12 Fight the good fight(A) of the faith. Take hold of(B) the eternal life(C) to which you were called when you made your good confession(D) in the presence of many witnesses. 13 In the sight of God, who gives life to everything, and of Christ Jesus, who while testifying before Pontius Pilate(E) made the good confession,(F) I charge you(G) 14 to keep this command without spot or blame(H) until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ,(I) 15 which God will bring about in his own time(J)—God, the blessed(K) and only Ruler,(L) the King of kings and Lord of lords,(M) 16 who alone is immortal(N) and who lives in unapproachable light,(O) whom no one has seen or can see.(P) To him be honor and might forever. Amen.(Q)

17 Command those who are rich(R) in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth,(S) which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God,(T) who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.(U) 18 Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds,(V) and to be generous and willing to share.(W) 19 In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves(X) as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of(Y) the life that is truly life.

20 Timothy, guard what has been entrusted(Z) to your care. Turn away from godless chatter(AA) and the opposing ideas of what is falsely called knowledge, 21 which some have professed and in so doing have departed from the faith.(AB)

Grace be with you all.(AC)
