1 Timothy 5:17-19

¹⁷The elders who lead well are worthy of honor and honorarium^[a]—especially those who work hard in the word and teaching. ¹⁸For the Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle the ox while he is threshing,”^[b] and, “The worker is worthy of his wage.” ^[c] ¹⁹Do not accept an accusation against an elder except on the evidence of two or three witnesses.

New International Version

¹⁷The elders^(A) who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor,^(B) especially those whose work is preaching and teaching. ¹⁸For Scripture says, “Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain,”^[a]^(C) and “The worker deserves his wages.”^[b]^(D) ¹⁹Do not entertain an accusation against an elder^(E) unless it is brought by two or three witnesses.^(F)
