12 and so they bring judgment on themselves because they set aside their former pledge.[a] 13 At the same time, they also learn to be lazy as they go about from house to house. They not only learn to be lazy, but also to be gossips and busybodies, saying things that they should not say. 14 Therefore I want younger widows[b] to marry, to have children, to keep house, and to give no opportunity for the enemy to slander them.

And not only do they become idlers, but also busybodies(A) who talk nonsense,(B) saying things they ought not to. 14 So I counsel younger widows to marry,(C) to have children, to manage their homes and to give the enemy no opportunity for slander.(D)
