10 Let them also first be tested; then let them serve[a] if they are blameless. 11 Their wives in the same way must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, and faithful in all things. 12 Let servants[b] be husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.

10 They must first be tested;(A) and then if there is nothing against them, let them serve as deacons.
11 In the same way, the women[a] are to be worthy of respect, not malicious talkers(B) but temperate(C) and trustworthy in everything.
12 A deacon must be faithful to his wife(D) and must manage his children and his household well.(E)
