⁵ For there [is only] one God, and [only] one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,

⁶ Who gave Himself as a ransom for all [people, a fact that was] attested to at the right and proper time.

²⁴ And to Jesus, the Mediator (Go-between, Agent) of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood which speaks [of mercy], a better and nobler and more gracious message than the blood of Abel [which cried out for vengeance].^(A)

¹⁶ And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever—
