12 and may the Lord (A)make you increase and abound in love (B)for one another and for all, as we do for you, 13 so that he may (C)establish your hearts blameless in holiness before (D)our God and Father, at (E)the coming of our Lord Jesus (F)with all his saints.

A Life Pleasing to God

Finally, then, brothers,[a] we ask and urge you in the Lord Jesus, that as you (G)received from us (H)how you ought to walk and (I)to please God, just as you are doing, that you (J)do so more and more. For (K)you know what instructions we gave you through the Lord Jesus. For this is the will of God, (L)your sanctification:[b] (M)that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own (N)body[c] in holiness and (O)honor, not in (P)the passion of lust (Q)like the Gentiles (R)who do not know God;

Living to Please God

As for other matters, brothers and sisters,(F) we instructed you how to live(G) in order to please God,(H) as in fact you are living. Now we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus to do this more and more. For you know what instructions we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus.

It is God’s will(I) that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality;(J) that each of you should learn to control your own body[a](K) in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust(L) like the pagans,(M) who do not know God;(N)
