11 as you know how we exhorted, and comforted, and [a]charged every one of you, as a father does his own children, 12 (A)that you would walk worthy of God (B)who calls you into His own kingdom and glory.
Their Conversion
13 For this reason we also thank God (C)without ceasing, because when you (D)received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it (E)not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively (F)works in you who believe.

11 For you know that we dealt with each of you as a father deals with his own children,(A) 12 encouraging, comforting and urging you to live lives worthy(B) of God, who calls(C) you into his kingdom and glory.
13 And we also thank God continually(D) because, when you received the word of God,(E) which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe.
