¹² Then Samuel ^(A)took a stone and set it between Mizpah and Shen, and he named it ^[a]Ebenezer. And he said, “Thus far Yahweh has helped us.”

¹⁷ But his return would be to ^(A)Ramah, for his house was there, and there he judged Israel; and he ^(B)built there an altar to Yahweh.

²⁵ Then David built there an altar to Yahweh and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. ^(A)Thus Yahweh was moved by the entreaty for the land, and the plague was checked from being upon Israel.

^8 (A)Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. ^(B)Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and ^(C)purify your hearts, you ^(D)double-minded.
