13 David said to his men, “Each of you gird on his sword.” So each man girded on his sword. And David also girded on his sword, and about (A)four hundred men went up behind David while two hundred (B)stayed with the baggage.
14 But one of the young men told Abigail, Nabal’s wife, saying, “Behold, David sent messengers from the wilderness to [a](C)greet our master, and he scorned them. 15 Yet the men were very good to us, and we were not (D)insulted, nor did we miss anything [b]as long as we went about with them, while we were in the fields.

13 David said to his men(A), “Each of you strap on your sword!” So they did, and David strapped his on as well. About four hundred men went(B) up with David, while two hundred stayed with the supplies.(C)
14 One of the servants told Abigail, Nabal’s wife, “David sent messengers from the wilderness to give our master his greetings,(D) but he hurled insults at them. 15 Yet these men were very good to us. They did not mistreat(E) us, and the whole time we were out in the fields near them nothing was missing.(F)
