1 Samuel 20:6-8
New King James Version
6 If your father misses me at all, then say, ‘David earnestly asked permission of me that he might run over (A)to Bethlehem, his city, for there is a yearly sacrifice there for all the family.’ 7 (B)If he says thus: ‘It is well,’ your servant will be safe. But if he is very angry, be sure that (C)evil is determined by him. 8 Therefore you shall (D)deal kindly with your servant, for (E)you have brought your servant into a covenant of the Lord with you. Nevertheless, (F)if there is iniquity in me, kill me yourself, for why should you bring me to your father?”

1 Samuel 20:6-8
New International Version
6 If your father misses me at all, tell him, ‘David earnestly asked my permission(A) to hurry to Bethlehem,(B) his hometown, because an annual(C) sacrifice is being made there for his whole clan.’ 7 If he says, ‘Very well,’ then your servant is safe. But if he loses his temper,(D) you can be sure that he is determined(E) to harm me. 8 As for you, show kindness to your servant, for you have brought him into a covenant(F) with you before the Lord. If I am guilty, then kill(G) me yourself! Why hand me over to your father?”
