⁶ “The Lord brings death and makes alive;^(A)
    he brings down to the grave and raises up.^(B)
7 The Lord sends poverty and wealth;^(C)
    he humbles and he exalts.^(D)
8 He raises^(E) the poor^(F) from the dust^(G)
    and lifts the needy^(H) from the ash heap;
he seats them with princes
    and has them inherit a throne of honor.^(I)

“For the foundations^(J) of the earth are the Lord’s;
    on them he has set the world.
⁹ He will guard the feet^(K) of his faithful servants,^(L)
    but the wicked will be silenced in the place of darkness.^(M)

“It is not by strength^(N) that one prevails;
¹⁰     those who oppose the Lord will be broken.^(O)
The Most High will thunder^(P) from heaven;
    the Lord will judge^(Q) the ends of the earth.

“He will give strength^(R) to his king
    and exalt the horn^(S) of his anointed.”
