⁵ So David went out wherever Saul sent him, and ^[a]prospered; and Saul set him over the men of war. And it was pleasing in the sight of all the people and also in the sight of Saul’s servants.

¹³ Therefore Saul removed him from ^[a]his presence and appointed him as his commander of a thousand; and ^(A)he went out and came in before the people.

¹⁶ But ^(A)all Israel and Judah loved David, and he went out and came in before them.
