²⁷ David rose up and went, ^(A)he and his men, and struck down two hundred men among the Philistines. Then ^(B)David brought their foreskins, and they gave them in full number to the king, that he might become the king’s son-in-law. So Saul gave him Michal his daughter as a wife.

¹⁴ So David sent messengers to Ish-bosheth, Saul’s son, saying, “Give me my wife Michal, to whom I was betrothed ^(A)for one hundred foreskins of the Philistines.”
