27 Then Samuel turned to go, but (A)Saul seized the edge of his robe, and it tore. 28 So Samuel said to him, “(B)Yahweh has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today and has given it to your neighbor, who is better than you. 29 Also the (C)Eternal One of Israel (D)will not lie or have regret; for He is not a man that He should have regret.”

27 As Samuel turned to leave, Saul caught hold of the hem of his robe,(A) and it tore.(B) 28 Samuel said to him, “The Lord has torn(C) the kingdom(D) of Israel from you today and has given it to one of your neighbors—to one better than you.(E) 29 He who is the Glory of Israel does not lie(F) or change(G) his mind; for he is not a human being, that he should change his mind.”
