27 (A)As Samuel turned to go away, Saul seized the skirt of his robe, and it tore. 28 And Samuel said to him, (B)“The Lord has torn the kingdom of Israel from you this day and has given it to a neighbour of yours, who is better than you. 29 And also the Glory of Israel (C)will not lie or have regret, for he is not a man, that he should have regret.”

27 As Samuel turned to leave, Saul caught hold of the hem of his robe,(A) and it tore.(B) 28 Samuel said to him, “The Lord has torn(C) the kingdom(D) of Israel from you today and has given it to one of your neighbors—to one better than you.(E) 29 He who is the Glory of Israel does not lie(F) or change(G) his mind; for he is not a human being, that he should change his mind.”
