Saul numbered them at Bezek. There were 300,000 men of Israel, and 30,000 men of Judah. They said to the men who had brought the news, “Tell the men of Jabesh-gilead that tomorrow, by the time the sun is hot, you will have help.” So the men went and told the news to the men of Jabesh, and they were glad. 10 Then the men of Jabesh said, “Tomorrow we will give ourselves up to you. And you may do to us whatever you think is good.”

When Saul mustered(A) them at Bezek,(B) the men of Israel numbered three hundred thousand and those of Judah thirty thousand.

They told the messengers who had come, “Say to the men of Jabesh Gilead, ‘By the time the sun is hot tomorrow, you will be rescued.’” When the messengers went and reported this to the men of Jabesh, they were elated. 10 They said to the Ammonites, “Tomorrow we will surrender(C) to you, and you can do to us whatever you like.”
