18 He said to the Israelites, “This is what Yahweh Elohim of Israel says: I brought Israel out of Egypt and rescued you from the power of the Egyptians and all the kings who were oppressing you. 19 But now you have rejected your Elohim, who saves you from all your troubles and distresses. You said, ‘No! Place a king over us.’ Now then, stand in front of Yahweh by your tribes and family groups.”
20 When Samuel had all the tribes of Israel come forward, the tribe of Benjamin was chosen.

18 and said to them, “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘I brought Israel up out of Egypt, and I delivered you from the power of Egypt and all the kingdoms that oppressed(A) you.’ 19 But you have now rejected(B) your God, who saves(C) you out of all your disasters and calamities. And you have said, ‘No, appoint a king(D) over us.’(E) So now present(F) yourselves before the Lord by your tribes and clans.”
20 When Samuel had all Israel come forward by tribes, the tribe of Benjamin was taken by lot.
