¹³ And Samuel came to Saul, and Saul said to him, ^(A)“Blessed be you to the Lord. I have performed the commandment of the Lord.”

¹⁰ And he said, ^(A)“May you be blessed by the Lord, my daughter. You have made this last kindness greater than ^(B)the first in that you have not gone after young men, whether poor or rich.

² And he said to his mother, “The 1,100 pieces of silver that were taken from you, about which you uttered a curse, and also spoke it in my ears, behold, the silver is with me; I took it.” And his mother said, ^(A)“Blessed be my son by the Lord.”

¹¹ The Pharisee, ^(A)standing by himself, prayed^{[a] (B)}thus: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.

¹⁰ So you also, when you have done all that you were commanded, say, ‘We are ^(A)unworthy servants;^[a] we have only done what was our duty.’”
